"Awful awful awful. PLEASE dont go here, they don't deserve your cash. With so many lovely greek restaurants in the area (Daphne's, Andy's Taverna, Ta Dalina) there is no need to end up here. The only reason we did was that it was Sunday and having tried the above, two were shut and one was full. We should have known Cafe Corfu would be awful as it was empty and looks like a Wetherspoons but my mate had already got there and ordered a drink and we were starving. How bad could it be? Awful decor, terrible service, distinctly average food. Avoid!!!"

""Just a quick word - food was great, service was even better and we especially impressed with the manager!""

""I went to cafe Corfu for Valentines Day and to cut a long story short was shocked by the terrible service and measly portions. We had a £45 set 5-course menu. The starter was pitta bread with (just 2) dips. it arrived about 20 minutes after we sat down and ordered, with the wine we ordered (and re-ordered) coming about five minutes later. The plate was tiny and we were told it was for 4 people - c. 1/4 of a pitta bread to split between four! We ordered some more pitta bread which turned up about ten minutes later. This amounted to c. 1/2 a pitta bread, split into 4 pieces. For this we were later billed ?1.75 extra ! Second course was aubergine and was tasty and about the right size. It turned up without too much delay either. Third course was described as a salad but it reality consisted of maybe half a lettuce split between 4 of us. No other garnishing. Exceedingly small portions and exceedingly dull Main course was a couple of small pieces of lamb with one small boiled new potato, chopped up into 6 pieces - a starter masquerading as a main course. Dessert was actually very good. Service throughout was abysmal. When we ordered coffee, there were probably eight staff to 30 customers. Yet we still had to re-ask for coffee twice and it took c. 20 minutes to turn up. By that time, we were in hysterics at how bad the place was. a complete opposite to the two tables either side of us whose occupants were either in tears and arguing - probably over who fault it was they chose cafe Corfu. To cap it all off, no one even bothered to pick up our credit card receipts and we had to go to the till ourselves. This was just a farce and an insult to Greek cooking and our fine city in general. When we complained to the manager he told us that some people like Cafe Corfu and he doesn't get that many complaints - how reassuring! Maybe I went there on a bad night but to me it is a place being run purely for profit and targeting tourists / non-repeat diners. The attitude stinks. When we eat at lemonia / retsina / marios etc, it always such a nice experience, with prompt and friendly staff, free drinks etc at the end, copious dishes. This for £20-£30 a head. We were asked to pay £70 a head at Cafe Corfu.
In retrospect, the 4 of us would have been better off giving £200 to charity and eating at Marathon kebab shop. PS. luckily, the meal didn't damage my relationship with my girlfriend. She thought it was hilarious and was making sweepstakes on how many minutes it would take to get more wine, how may times we would have to re-order, how many fragments of meat would be on the plate, how long it would be before any one else looked like they were enjoying themselves etc etc.""
