Music Review: Laura Critchley – Sometimes I
Release date: Out Now
Genre: Pop
Format: Album
Our Rating: 2/5
Laura Critchley is by all accounts a favourite of Mr Terry Wogan, no less. And, no disrespect to Wogan, but she’s definitely more Radio Two than Radio One. Another female British singer/songwriter, Critchley is more LeAnn Rimes than Lily Allen. She sings about being the girl next door and dedicates a song to Karen Carpenter. She’s obviously going for the anti-Britney market.
Sadly, all her sweetness is a bit cloying and she might sound fresh but she also sounds safe and, sorry Terry, more than a little bit boring.
