If you’re a celeb and you’re not out on the town without your knickers, it appears that rehab is the place to be these days.

You don’t even have to be A-list anymore, anywhere from F-list upwards and you and your ‘therapy’ will warrant a bit of tabloid tattle. And forget the drugs dahling, you don’t actually need be a junkie to warrant a stint in rehab. These days there are all sorts of expensive palaces that should pander to your every need, whether that simply be to repair a damaged reputation – cue Jade Goody.

The most recent episode is the Bald Britney scandal. Her new haircut and erratic behaviour has everyone wondering if she’s on the brink of a nervous breakdown. I like to think that she simply bit the bullet and cut off that mangy old mane after years of follicle abuse, thus encouraging a nice new set of luscious locks.

Even our very own UK addict, Robbie Williams celebrated his birthday by checking into a rehab centre in America. It seems that Robbie may well be addicted to addiction; having spent years battling drink and recreational drug use he’s now checking in to fight an addiction to prescription drugs (I’m assuming he’s hooked on something a little stronger than Benylin…)

And whilst Amy Winehouse gets the subject into our Top 40, you’ve got the ongoing saga of Ms Moss and Master Doherty. Kate’s little liaison with the white stuff last year did little to blur her public image, however it’s a completely different story for her boyfriend/husband/lover Pete, who is in and out of rehab so frequently it’s a wonder they have any time for a relationship.

Whilst we’re on the subject of addicted ‘other halves’, get Nicole Kidman who had her new hubby in rehab within days of their marriage ceremony. Do you think he had an ongoing issue? Or that he simply had one too many G&T’s on their honeymoon and good old Nicky had him whisked off before he had time to order coffee?

Yawn, and the list goes on and on and on, Caprice, Lindsay Lohan, Kerry Katona…

Addiction is so 2006 dahling, let’s all get over it and have another cocktail.
