Rachel: LA makes you feel ugly - Nov 30 2007
Rachel Weisz has reportedly said being in Los Angeles can make you very body conscious.
The actress - who has spent time across the pond on various projects - is quoted by the Daily Mirror as saying: "LA makes you feel ugly."
But the star is comfortable with her own curves.
"But I have a woman's body, not a boy's body. Women should feel proud of their butts, their breasts and their bellies," she said.
The brunette actress and her partner Darren Aronofsky have been together for six years and divide their time between apartments in London and Brooklyn, New York, with their 18-month-old son Henry.
And Rachel, 36, hinted that the pair might be considering tying the knot.
"We've spent a lot of time dreaming up different versions of how we'd do it and what kind of ceremony we'd have," she said, "but we're still just dreaming about it."
Rachel’s comedy role - Nov 16 2007
Rachel Weisz has apparently said her latest role in Fred Claus marked a real departure from the serious drama that she is used to.
The Oscar-winning Londoner - who plays Wanda, the girlfriend of the eponymous hero played by Vince Vaughn - also said the supporting role meant she could spent more time with her son, 18-month-old Henry Chance.
"It’s definitely a departure for me," she told ES magazine. "I’m not considered in comedies very often and I got the word out that I wanted to do them.
She continued: "Supporting roles take three weeks to film rather than three months.
"This is a very funny story and for me it was completely different and challenging. Vince Vaughn loves improvising - that’s his style of work - and it was a challenge to jump in and improvise."
Describing her motherhood, Rachel added: "It’s a very different kind of love; one that you have never experienced before. It’s a bit like when you first fall in love, though not quite so hysterical as that."
Funny role for Rachel - Nov 6 2007
When Rachel Weisz agreed to try her hand at comedy in new Christmas movie Fred Claus, it was all because of co-star Vince Vaughn.
"I’m a big Vince Vaughn fan," the actress told Access Hollywood at the film’s Los Angeles premiere. "So I thought it would be fun to do a few scenes opposite Vince and see how I could possibly keep up with that lightning-speed mind that he has.
"He’s such a guy’s guy, and I like guys like that," she added. "He’s very down to earth, very funny, very charming, very smart. He’s a master of comedy as well, so it was fun for me to try to absorb some of that."
Rachel plays Wanda in the movie which sees Vince’s character Fred Claus go to the North Pole to help his brother Nick (Santa Claus) in the family business.
"I really wanted to do a comedy," she said. "I’ve been doing a lot of really dark heavy things. I’ve died a lot basically. I’ve died a few times in a row and I really wanted to do something fun."
Fred Claus comes out in the UK at the end of November.
