Myleene: I’ll work ’til I pop - July 24 2007
Pregnant Myleene Klass has apparently vowed to keep working until she gives birth to her baby in less than two months’ time.
The 29-year-old presents a radio show on Classic FM, appears in adverts for Marks & Spencer and has just released a classical album.
"I have worked nearly every day of the week, including weekends, for as long as I can remember. The way I see it, I’ve wanted the opportunity to have a consistent job in a field that I love so I’m going to make the most of it while I can," the star told the Daily Express.
Myleene, who first came to fame in pop group Hear’Say, added: "It’s not too hard for me to recall my student days when I couldn’t get a job in a chorus line, let alone regular wages, and I love the work I do so much that it doesn’t always constitute work in my eyes anyway."
Blooming Myleene’s Duo Celebration - July 9 2007
Mother-to-be Myleene Klass showed no signs of slowing her workload as she celebrated her new album hitting the top spot and a new role as presenter of a prime time show.
The 29-year-old is due to give birth to her first child at the beginning of September but is determined the mere fact she is eight-months pregnant will not hold her back. A blooming Myleene was in celebratory mood at Classic FM’s studios in
And not content with assaulting the airwaves, she has also been promoted to host BBC’s The One Show alongside Adrian Chiles, which will hit our screens tomorrow night. Myleene had been due to be a roving reporter but her work apparently impressed producers so much that she was given a screen test and then upgraded to co-present it.
Marking the double celebration with a "Number One" cake and with her fiance Graham Quinn at her side, she said that she was "beside herself" about being given such an opportunity. She said: "It’s a show by the people for the people and that is what is so exciting about it."
And she showed few qualms about taking on more work at such a late stage in her pregnancy, with just under eight weeks to go until her first child - a baby girl - is due. She said: "The way I look at it is that I am pacing myself. I do know my own body and when it says we’re tired, I sleep and when it says we’re hungry, I eat.
"At the same time I know a lot of working mums and pregnant women that are working hard and doing their best to build a future for their families and I want to stay as true to that as possible."

Rather than follow the usual solo path Myleene signed a deal with the jazz and classical division of Universal, releasing the album Moving On which explored her training as a classical pianist and peaked at number two in the classical charts. She has also presented CD:UK among other shows and appeared on stage in The Vagina Monologues.
