Myleene Klass
- Profession: Musician and Presenter
- Place/Date of Birth: Gorleston, Norfolk, 06 April 2020
She added: "I wish I could do it all over again. It gave me opportunities that I’ve been working for for so long, but at the same time it made me realise that I’m a lot stronger than I thought I was and it’s made me just less fussy about things.
"I made an apple pie in the jungle with a rat sitting on my shoe, you know. You actually realise we are so obsessed with everything - with sanitising surfaces and it really isn’t that big a deal."
Myleene quits The One Show - Oct 20 2007
Myleene Klass has quit BBC One’s The One Show because she wants to spend time with her baby daughter, it has been announced.
The presenter and performer, 29, was due to return to the series in a few weeks time after taking time off with baby Ava, who was born in August.
A BBC spokesperson said: "Myleene has decided - with a new baby and all her other commitments - that she simply can’t manage the level of commitment that’s needed to co-present a live, daily show and everyone at the BBC completely understands and respects this position."
However, Myleene will still be a part of the show.
The spokesperson said: "We are delighted that Myleene is not going to be leaving the show altogether but will be taking on a different role - she will still be making frequent appearances fronting films and strands within the show. So, she will still be very much a part of The One Show family."
Myleene started co-hosting the current affairs programme with Adrian Chiles when it started in July. Christine Bleakley has been covering her maternity leave.
Myleene: Embrace the jungle - Oct 18 2007
Myleene Klass has some helpful tips for the next batch of contestants on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
New mother Myleene, whose stint in the jungle last year boosted her own career, believes that the key to success in the ITV1 show is enthusiasm.
"I think in that situation just embrace it," she said. "Cuddle the spiders - embrace them all!"
"If you don’t enjoy the work you do, you aren’t going to be very good at it, and it’s the same if you go to the rainforest and you don’t want to be there," she explained.
"There’s no point going into a rainforest and going ’oh no, it’s raining!’ I wanted to see that real blanket of tropical rain, because I’d never experienced anything like that before."
Since Myleene’s bikini clad appearance in the Australian jungle, she has had a classical album and landed a lucrative modelling contract with Marks & Spencer and a presenting spot on the One Show.
This year’s I’m A Celeb contestants are rumoured to include Paris Hilton and eighties pop star Jeffrey Daniel.
Myleene Gives Birth to Baby Girl - Aug 17 2007
Myleene Klass has given birth to a baby girl - three-and-half weeks early, and the TV presenter has named her 5lbs 9oz bundle of joy Ava.
The 29-year-old former Hear’Say singer gave birth in a London hospital with fiance Graham Quinn by her side.
"Myleene had a problem-free labour, and mother and baby are doing well. She and Graham are ecstatic. The baby is named Ava Quinn," her spokesman said.
The M&S model went into labour shortly after co-presenting BBC1’s The One Show.
Her spokesman said: "Myleene presented The One Show and felt a bit weird on the way home. She went to the hospital to get checked out and they told her she was in labour.
"The birth went very smoothly and all is well, but her stint on the show is obviously over."
Myleene co-hosted the daily programme with Adrian Chiles.

Rather than follow the usual solo path Myleene signed a deal with the jazz and classical division of Universal, releasing the album Moving On which explored her training as a classical pianist and peaked at number two in the classical charts. She has also presented CD:UK among other shows and appeared on stage in The Vagina Monologues.
