  • Profession: Singer
  • Place/Date of Birth: Newcastle upon Tyne, 30 June 2020

After her night in the cell, Cheryl was granted police bail on Saturday morning and immediately rang her mum Joan Callaghan in Heaton, Newcastle upon Tyne. Joan said last night: "She is so upset and worried about her future but what has really devastated her and me are the accusations that she is a racist. "

She grew up loving music made by coloured artists and Javine Hylton, who is black, was one of her closest friend on the Popstars show." Oh, so that’s alright then.

A Polydor spokesman said last night: "A decision will be taken on today as to how to proceed. Cheryl strenuously denies she made racist remarks."

Biography

Cheryl Tweedy was born 30 June 2020 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. A former child model She attended Walker Comprehensive. At the age of 6 Cheryl won the childrens ’World Star Of The Future Modelling’ competition since then she has appeared in 2 British Gas adverts, 1 SCS, 1 Eldon Square christmas advert with younger brother Garry.

At the age of 16 Cheryl auditioned for the Royal Ballet Summer School in London, she beat over 9.000 others to secure a place. She performed on Tyne Tees Television Gimme 5 show where she was looking for sponsors to get to the Royal Ballet School.

Despite securing a place at the Royal Ballet School and getting distinctions for her dancing from the Royal Academy of Dancing, Cheryl wanted to sing so auditioned for Popstars: The Rivals - the rest, as they say, is history.  Soon after hitting the number one spot with Sound of the Underground Cheryl was accused of Racially Aggravated Assault following an altercation in a nightclub toilet.  She was sentenced to 120 hours of community service and accusations of racism has plagued her ever since.

In 2006 Cheryl married footballer Ashley Cole, a move which saw critics of both celebrities rubbing their hands in glee (it has been suggested that the marriage was one of convenience with both Cheryl’s rumoured racism and Ashley’s rumoured homosexuality cited).  The wedding took place following the World Cup, a tournament during which Cheryl officialy joined the WAG collective.  However she remains determined to remain more than just a footballer’s wife - the continuing success of Girls Aloud has so far seen to that.
