High Street Stella - Nov 10, 2020
Most of us have coveted a Stella McCartney design at one point, but if you’re anything like us your monthly wage doesn’t quite stretch to those fab bustiers and boots as well as the food shop. So you can imagine how chuffed we were to hear that Stella’s following in Karl Lagerfield’s footsteps and launching her own H&M diffusion line.
Launched today (10/11/05) the line makes the designer’s infamous skinny trousers, chiffon and tailored jackets affordable to even the most stingy shopper – but get in quick, penny pinching fashionistas are expected to snap up the line quick smart and already this morning rails across the UK have been left bare.
Stella’s shower - Aug 05
Fashion darling and daughter of rock’s most famous knight Stella McCartney has taken a bath over her latest bid to build a shower room in her London home. The millionaire frock designer built a bizarre outdoor shower on the roof of her London pad. But she forgot to get planning permission and has now been ordered to rip it down.

Madonna upsets Stella - April 04
Madonna has upset good friend Stella McCartney over donation requests.
The pop star’s constant requests for huge donations to the Kabbalah movement is making the relationship between the two stars increasingly difficult according to fashion designer Stella "She doesn’t see why she should pay huge sums just to follow the Kabbalah teachings", a friend of Stella said, presumbaly not Madge.
Stella at Gucci - 15/01/04
The designer for Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent has stepped down, leaving one space clear for Stella McCartney perhaps?
Ever since Tom Ford announced that he was not renewing his contract, speculation has grown over who will take on the prestigious job. The biggest rumours are that Alexander McQueen may be the man for Yves Saint Laurent. This would be a smooth take over, as Gucci Group own both YSL and McQueens label. As to the take over for Gucci, Stella’s name has been pulled out of the swanky hat. The Gucci Group also owns her label, but since she refuses to work with leather or fur, she could principal herself out of the job.
She’s hitched! - 1/09/03
As we reported on Friday - Stella McCartney has married boyfriend Alasdhair Willis - congrats to them both!
A host of stars came out for Stella’s big day on the Scottish Isle of Bute - Madonna and Guy Richie, Coldplays’ Chris Martin, Liv Tyler, Gucci boss Tom Ford, Kate Moss - as well as proud dad Sir Paul and his pregga’s plays pop wife Heather. The security is said to have been one of the tightest ever - there were probably more press on the small Scottish Isle then there were guests at the wedding - not that the assorted press got a chance to get any snaps. Only a few ingenious photographers got a few quick pics of Stella being rushed to her car - as no press were allowed on the island.
However - the locals are saying that it is the best thing that has happened to them for years - as the waiting press pack bought up all the booze, food and fags around the port - doing record and unheard of sales for the local shops and pubs!

Unsurprisingly, the student show became front page news around the world and the entire collection was snapped up by London boutique Tokio. She launched her eponymous label the same year. Despite her new-found celebrity, McCartney had already served a long apprenticeship in fashion. At 15, she worked with Christian Lacroix on his first couture collection and later spent several years learning her craft on Savile Row. McCartney was appointed chief designer at the French couture house Chloë in March 1997. Succeeding Karl Lagerfeld in one of the most high profile posts in the industry, McCartney’s appointment was viewed by many as simply an astute publicity stunt on the part of Chloë’s owners, the Vendome group. However, her first collection for the house, shown in Paris in October 1997, quickly dispelled any doubts about her talent. Sensual and romantic, the collection teamed lacy petticoat skirts with fine tailoring and was hailed a triumph. Her delicate camisoles and Nineties updates of the Seventies trousersuit fast became the talk of the catwalk circuit.
The following season, Chloë execs proved that her efforts had not only raised the house’s profile, but had lifted its profits too. Following her mother’s death in April 1998, Stella took up her fight against the maltreatment of animals. A month later, during Fur Fashion Week, she teamed up with PeTA - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals - to release a video championing animal rights. In April 2000, she renewed her contract with Chloë, amid reports that she had turned down the offer of a position at rival house Gucci, because Gucci would have required her to work with leather. She may have torn up the grey carpets of her new office in Paris to make it of a parquet-floored home away from home; but, to Stella McCartney, there really is no place like it.
In fact, rather than move entirely from her beloved studio-flat in London’s W11, the Chloë designer has merely upgraded to a £695,000 white stucco, four-floor family house with a miniature roof terrace down the road. Her vibe is undeniably west London. Written in 2000
