Spice Girls

The two-hour long reunion show saw the girls performing 22 tracks, including their nine UK number one singles, new single Headlines and some solo material.

There were eight different costume changes during the show, which goes to San Jose in California next week.

In the coming months, the five will perform in cities across the world, from London to Cape Town, as well as Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, Shanghai, Madrid and Beijing.

The group were joined on-stage by a team of male dancers who dazzled the audience with breakdancing, ballroom moves and acrobatics.

The Spice Girls’ co-ordinating outfits were created by designer Roberto Cavalli specially for the tour.

The girls opened with Spice Up Your Life and danced on raised platforms before walking just inches from the ecstatic fans down the stage catwalk.

In one segment, the girls wore outfits reflecting the Spice nicknames which made them famous more than a decade ago.

Geri sported a rhinestone version of the Union Jack dress she famously wore to The Brits, while Mel B was clad head-to-toe in animal print with matching knee high boots.

Hoax e-mail about Spice Girls gig - Nov 26 2007

The Spice Girls were the victims of a bogus e-mail which claimed they had cancelled a tour date in South America due to the level of demand in Britain and the US.

A fake e-mail was sent round and published on several websites claiming the group were having to pull out of their gig in Buenos Aires in Argentina in January.

The reformed girl group have been forced to issue a statement denying the cancellation - although they confirmed high demand has meant it is having to be postponed.

Phenomenal interest in tickets for the reunion tour, which starts next Sunday in Vancouver, Canada, has seen the group add several dates and led to others being rescheduled.

But the bogus e-mail claimed "overwhelming" demand in the US and Britain had meant the Argentinian slot was to be cancelled completely.

It quoted the Spice Girls as saying: "In order to meet that demand, it’s not possible for us to keep extending the tour because of our solo projects and family obligations. That means we are unable to hold a concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We’re incredibly sorry for the delay in making this announcement, but we have been really trying to fit this date in our schedule."

The group later issued a statement which said: "The Spice Girls would like to make it clear that they have not cancelled their Buenos Aires show.

"The truth is that the Buenos Aires show has had to be postponed due to all the extra added dates and incredible demand."

It’s Christmas with the Spice Girls - oct 26 2007

Tesco is Spicing up Christmas with a festive ad.

The Spice Girls have signed up as the new faces of the supermarket chain.

And their new advert gives "a glimpse into what Christmas with the Spice Girls might be like".

The famous fivesome are seen having a giggle at home by a table laden with champagne and canapes.

All are wrapped up cosily against the winter weather - except for Victoria Beckham, who is glammed up in her trademark tight dress and bare legs.

Unfortunately for Tesco, Posh Spice is on the record as saying her favourite shop is M&S.

Just before the Beckhams’ move to LA, she said: "You can get most things out there but what I will miss is M&S. I missed it when I first moved to Madrid and it is the first shop I go to when I’m back."

A Tesco spokesman said: "We are thrilled to be working with the Spice Girls for our Christmas campaign. We feel that the new commercials really emphasise Tesco’s commitment to offer something different and exciting this Christmas."
