Russell to quit Big Mouth? - Feb 15 2007
It seems Russell Brand might be quitting as the host of Big Brother’s Big Mouth.
The wild-haired presenter has hinted that he might not be back for the next series of the reality TV show spin-off because the work schedule is so tough.
"I’ll let you in on a secret - I may not be presenting the next series of Big Brother’s Big Mouth," he said in a column he was guest-editing in the Daily Mirror.
"It is six nights a week for three months - that’s hard work guys!"
And loudmouthed Russell admitted he hated watching the Shilpa Shetty row unfold in the Celebrity Big Brother house this year.
"I must say I felt really uncomfortable when I watched the rows between Jade, Jo, Danielle and Shilpa on CBB," he said, adding that it was "good everyone took a stance against racism".
He added: "We should be tolerant of people like Jade who haven’t been well educated. Here endeth the lesson!"
Russell relaxed about Brits - Feb 14 2007
Wacky presenter Russell Brand says he’s relaxed about tonight’s Brits - despite the fact it’s live.
And the sharp-tongued charmer insists he won’t suffer from stage fright as he hosts the event and says he hasn’t got any surprises up his sleeve.
"I’m doing one day of rehearsals to get used to the room but I haven’t really thought about it. I’ve been so busy," he told The Sun.
"It would be nice if something happened at the Brits, otherwise people will be disappointed. You want some kind of event but I certainly won’t be orchestrating anything."
"If there are a few expletives that will be a good thing," he added.
He also revealed that he’s been rubbing shoulders with the likes of Tom Cruise during a visit to Los Angeles.
"I’m not going to rush off and live in LA, I’ve got loads of work on in England. I’m doing Comic Relief, a sitcom, and a show with Channel 4," he said.
"But I’m doing some acting work and there are opportunities over here (LA). It’s very unusual, this place, but I want to work."
"I met Tom Cruise and he seemed like a jolly nice chap. In the future I could see me spending more time here," he added.
Russell penning his ’booky wooky’ - Jan 25 2007
It seems Russell Brand really is unstoppable, if news of a half a million pound book deal for his autobiography is anything to go by.
The quirky comedian who shot to fame as the host of Big Brother’s Big Mouth has signed a massive deal with publishers Hodder & Stoughton, the Daily Express reports.
A spokesman told the paper: "Russell’s still writing the book, but it’s due to come out in October."
The eccentric 31-year-old is set to lift the lid on his infamous womanising, including high-profile conquest Kate Moss and several former Big Brother housemates.
But the lanky lothario has made it clear he won’t go out of his way to be nasty in the book.
"I won’t say negative things about people. I will just be honest about me and that will be filthy enough," he promised.
The former heroin addict will also explain how he recovered from the habit. And as for the title of autobiography...?
"It’s called My Booky-Wooky, by Russell."

At this time MTV spotted the lanky funny man and gave him Dance Floor Chart to front, followed by their flagship teatime show Select and the UK Jackass. The now defunct UK Play nabbed Russell for his own show, RE:BRAND, in which he did such oddly silly things as bathing with a homeless man and taking part in a boxing match against his Dad. His acting talents were also spotted and he had parts in Channel 4’s White Teeth and Cruise of the Gods alongside Steve Coogan.
In between increasingly popular stand up shows Russell has become famous and loved throughout the Big Brother watching world as the host of Eforum and Big Brother’s Big Mouth in which he banters with fans and ’celebrities’ (mainly Vanessa Feltz, the poor chap) about the incarcerated idiots.
Most recently Russell has been wooed back to MTV to host their latest show, 1 Leicester Square.
