Police probe Doherty attack claim - Aug 23 2007
Police are investigating claims troubled rocker Pete Doherty attacked a woman photographer - just 24 hours after he walked free from court on a legal technicality.
The 28-year-old is alleged to have been involved in a scuffle with Cath Mead after posing for photographers outside a friend’s home in Crewkerne, Somerset, yesterday (August 22).
Miss Mead, 22, claims she was left with bruises and clumps of hair were missing after she was assaulted.
The Babyshambles singer allegedly chased the young photographer into a shop in the high street after she took a picture of his model girlfriend Irina Lazareanu.
Miss Mead made a complaint to police and wants to press charges.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "We did receive an allegation of common assault following an incident in Crewkerne yesterday.
"A woman in her 20s has claimed she was assaulted by a man in the George Shopping centre at 3pm.
"She wasn’t seriously injured but it’s believed damage was caused to the victim’s camera.
"The incident is being investigated."
Pete was charged with breaching bail earlier this week, but the case was dropped after police failed to produce him before the courts within the 24-hour deadline.
The bail breach allegation came less than two weeks after a judge told Pete he must kick his drugs habit or go to jail.
The singer previously admitted driving illegally while in possession of drugs in Kensington, west London. He’s due to be sentenced next month.
The bail breach charge follows Pete’s arrest for suspected drug possession hours after he performed at the weekend’s V Festival.
Pete Arrested at V - Aug 20 2007
Pete Doherty was arrested for suspected drug possession just hours after performing at the V Festival.
The 28-year-old singer was arrested in the Tower Hamlets area of east London at about 2am today (August 20).
He is being held at an east London police station after the car he was travelling in was stopped by police.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "A 28-year-old man was arrested in east London on suspicion of possession of drugs. He is in custody at an east London police station."
Pete took the stage at the festival in Stafford with his band Babyshambles.
One reviewer said he finished the set by demolishing the drum kit after starting four hours late, at 10pm, because of traffic.
Less than two weeks ago, a judge told the rocker he must kick his drug habit or go to jail.
The singer admitted driving illegally while in possession of crack, heroin, ketamine and cannabis in High Street Kensington, west London.
District Judge Davinder Lachlar asked for reports on his rehabilitation before making a decision during a hearing at West London Magistrates’ Court.
Pete, who enjoyed a high profile relationship with supermodel Kate Moss, has undergone a stomach implant to help him kick drugs.
Outside the court, he told reporters: "I’m banned from London. I can’t stay with my mum."
His solicitor, Sean Curran, later said Pete wasn’t banned from the capital, but said his bail address was outside London.
Pete’s musical dream - Aug 9 2007
Pete Doherty has apparently declared that he wants to put on a West End production of a musical he penned with Kate Moss.
The pair spent hours working on creative material together before they split, reports The Sun.
They kept a video diary and posted footage of their duets under the alias "KP Nuts" on YouTube.

A long and drawn out battle with drugs, an especially fiery relationship with Croydon’s favourite daughter and any number of bust ups and arrests has made the singer/songwriter one of Britain’s most recognisable faces (all be it a screwed up, sweaty zombie face).
Born on March 12 1979 in Hexham, Northumberland and living at various times in Liverpool, Shepherd’s Bush, Coventry, Dorset, Cyprus and Russia, Pete Doherty first came to the public’s attention as one half of the singing songwriting duo who fronted Britain’s must see band, The Libertines, who kick started the country’s new garage rock scene in 2002/03.
Debauched backstage shenanigans and frantic but brilliant shows saw The Libertines hit the headlines time and time again and their debut album, Up The Bracket, shot up the charts. However, the band’s success was to be short lived and numerous problems, between Pete and the rest of the band (specifically with best friend Carl Barat - the pair met when they became flatmates in Stoke Newington) saw them part ways but not before Pete hit the headlines for drink and drug problems which caused him to steal from his bandmates to feed his habit.
It was around this time that Lisa Moorish gave birth to Doherty’s child, Astile but, rather than settling down Pete carried on taking heroin, selling his ’My Drug Hell’ stories to any and every tabloid to pay for his out of control habit before being put in to several rehab clinics (including a Thai monastery), none of which have changed his ways.
Nonetheless he has managed to forge a career on his own, first working with Wolfman on For Lovers then forming Babyshambles, initially as a way to make money for.you guessed it! Now trying to get clean with the aid of Naltroxene after an arrest for assault, which resulted in some jail time as well as a curfew and constant supervision Pete is reportedly set to marry supermodel Kate Moss.
