Paris Hilton
- Profession: Hotel heiress
- Place/Date of Birth: New York City, 17 February 2021
Paris’s case caused a firestorm when she was released from Lynwood last week by sheriff’s officials to serve the remainder of her 45-day sentence for violating probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case in home confinement.
Sheriff Lee Baca said the 26-year-old was released because of an undisclosed medical condition. Critics said the celebrity was getting special treatment.
An outraged judge sent her back to jail on Friday.
Paris ’cold and tired’ in jail - June 14 2007
Jailed heiress Paris Hilton has seen her parents for the first time while behind bars, according to US reports.
The 26-year-old told Rick and Kathy Hilton that she has suffered cold and sleeplessness in jail but is starting to get her appetite back, her mother told showbiz website People.com.
After Tuesday’s 30-minute visit, Kathy Hilton said: "It’s tough in there. It’s cold."
She added: "It’s just good to see her."
It was the first time the heiress’s parents have seen her in jail.
Mrs Hilton told People.com: "She was very happy. She wants to just do her time and get on with it.
"She really hasn’t had much sleep."
Paris is behind bars at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in LA, where she is serving time for violating her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.
The hotel heiress was briefly released with an electronic ankle tag last Thursday for an undisclosed medical condition, but a judge sent her back to jail one day later.
Jailed Paris ’released by God’ - June 11 2007
Jailed heiress Paris Hilton believes God has "released" her and plans to "do different things" when she is let out of prison, it was reported.
The 26-year-old said she was no longer a "superficial girl" and realised that acting dumb was "no longer cute".
In a phone call to ABC News from behind bars, Paris said she wants to make a difference with "this new chance" she has been given.
Hilton, whose home-made sex video entitled 1 Night in Paris propelled her into the public eye when it was leaked on to the internet in 2003, told ABC News journalist Barbara Walters: "God has released me."
The 26-year-old was jailed last week but, after serving only three full days, was told by Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca on Thursday she could serve the remainder of her sentence at home, wearing a tag.
But the decision angered Supreme Court Judge Michael Sauer who called a court hearing on Friday and sent a sobbing and screaming Hilton back to jail.
Instead of returning to her cell at Los Angeles County Jail’s Lynwood prison, Hilton was put in the Twin Towers detention centre where she underwent medical assessments.
Early yesterday, Hilton announced she had told her lawyers not to appeal against her return to prison and vowed to serve her time although it was "by far the hardest thing I have ever done".
Paris was sentenced to a stint in jail for violating the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

The website also reports that Paris is being allowed to use her phone while she is in prison.

She might be set to inherit an estimated $20m but that hasn’t stopped Paris turning her hand to a variety of ’jobs’ including TV star ? on The Simple Life, in which ex friend Nicole also starred ? movie star (with cameo appearances in Zoolander and The Cat in The Hat followed by a starring role in House of Wax), writer, albeit of her own autobiography, and model. These extra jobs are thought to have netted her around an extra $6m, a tidy sum which no doubt more than makes up for the ridicule Paris faces daily.
More recently Paris has get in on the music industry, founding Heiress Records on which she will produce her own debut record ? first single ’Screwed’ has already been leaked and, naturally, slated. She has also hit the headlines for becoming engaged to fellow heir Paris Latsis with whom she is regularly seen on the LA and New York party scene.
