Hilton was among a series of witnesses who took the stand during the hearing. She maintained she was unaware her driving licence was suspended and thought she was allowed to drive for work purposes.

She said that when an officer who stopped her in January made her sign a document stating her licence was suspended, she thought he was mistaken and did not actually look at the document.

Hilton pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from a September 7 arrest in Hollywood. Police said she appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. She had a blood-alcohol level of .08%, the level at which an adult driver is breaking the law.

She was sentenced to 36 months’ probation, alcohol education and £750 in fines. Two other traffic stops and failure to enrol in an alcohol education programme are what landed the socialite back in court.

Paris Hilton has attracted another enemy it seems - former friend Shanna Moakler has apparently posted the socialite’s email address and mobile phone number online.

Former Miss USA Shanna posted the contact details for Paris on her MySpace page over the weekend, as well as a personal email address for Lindsay Lohan, according to People.com.

The heiress’ rep Elliot Mintz hit back, saying: "This woman is simply desperate for press and attention."

And he calls it "an unprovoked invasion upon Paris’s privacy, which immediately caused her to change her contact information. It was a childish, mean-spirited thing to do".

Shanna’s blog, entitled Put This In Your Pipe and Smoke It, has since been removed.

The posting reportedly listed what the reality TV star claimed were Paris’ email address and phone number and an email addresses for Lindsay Lohan.

Unsurprisingly, Li-Lo’s rep announced: "She and Shanna are not friends."

She may have helped Britney try and forget about K-Fed - but now Paris Hilton has apparently been spotted snuggling up to the troubled singer’s estranged husband in a Las Vegas club.

"They were both dancing away and looked as though they were flirting," an onlooker told the Daily Star. "It was hard to believe that Paris was once best pals with Britney and then was dancing with her ex. It all seems a bit unloyal."

The hotel heiress has had a busy week - it seems she’s also been cosying up to another on-off friend’s squeeze, James Blunt, who was linked to Lindsay Lohan.

Brit and Paris were regularly seen out clubbing together in Los Angeles last November, shortly after the Toxic star filed for divorce, but their friendship quickly turned sour when the star allegedly accused the socialite of damaging her reputation with her wild partying ways.

Meanwhile the singer, who has since been into rehab, was spotted having an altogether more sedate time shopping in LA.

Paris Hilton has been ordered to appear in court for allegedly violating her probation in a reckless driving case by driving on a suspended licence.

City prosecutors are seeking to revoke the hotel heiress’ probation on grounds that she violated its terms, which could result in a sentence of up to 90 days in jail.
