Paris Hilton
- Profession: Hotel heiress
- Place/Date of Birth: New York City, 17 February 2021
On Friday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer ordered that the party girl must report to a women’s jail in suburban Lynwood on the set date or face 90 days behind bars. She will not be allowed any work release, leave of absences, use of an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in place of jail
Paris was among a series of witnesses who took the stand during the hearing. She maintained she was unaware her driving licence was suspended and thought she was allowed to drive for work purposes.
The heiress pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from a September 7 arrest in Hollywood. She was sentenced to 36 months’ probation, alcohol education and £750 in fines.
Paris claims officers asked her out - May 7 2007
Socialite Paris Hilton said police officers "hit on her all the time" and posed in a zebra-print outfit meant to resemble jail stripes before a judge ordered her to spend 45 days in prison.
The 26-year-old multi-millionaire said she attracted attention because of who she was, but added that officers did not usually arrest her.
The hotel heiress has been ordered to report to a Los Angeles county jail by June 5 to serve 45 days for breaking the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.
She will be shown wearing a zebra print outfit running away from models dressed as policemen on the front cover of June’s issue of Harper’s Bazaar.
She tells the magazine: "I think I get in more trouble just because of who I am. The cops do it all the time. They’ll just pull me over to hit on me. It’s really annoying. They’re like, ’What’s your phone number? Want to go to dinner?’
"They just pull me over, and the paparazzi, of course, take a picture. All the time. I have so many cops’ business cards."
Earlier, Hilton parted company with her publicist Elliot Mintz over what he said was a "misunderstanding" over the terms of her probation.
Based on statements from Hilton and Mr Mintz, she apparently took legal advice from him, but not her lawyers.
Mr Mintz said Hilton was being truthful when she told the judge she believed, incorrectly, that "it was OK for her to drive under certain circumstances" under the terms.
But long-time publicist Michael Levine said the 45-day jail sentence imposed by the judge may make Hilton more popular than ever. "It will actually increase her star appeal in a very sick and demented way," he said.
Judge jails party girl Paris Hilton - May 7 2007
A California judge has sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail for violating her probation, putting the brakes on the hotel heiress’ famous high life.
Party girl Hilton, 26, must go to jail on June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release, leave of absences, use of an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in place of jail, Loa Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer ruled after a hearing.
The judge said she broke the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.
"I’m very sorry and from now on I’m going to pay complete attention to everything. I’m sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all," she told the judge before he announced the sentence.
She was then ordered to report to a women’s jail in suburban Lynwood on the set date or face 90 days behind bars.
As a city prosecutor said during closing arguments that Hilton deserved jail time, Hilton’s mother Kathy laughed. When the judge ruled, Kathy Hilton then blurted out: "May I have your autograph?"

She might be set to inherit an estimated $20m but that hasn’t stopped Paris turning her hand to a variety of ’jobs’ including TV star ? on The Simple Life, in which ex friend Nicole also starred ? movie star (with cameo appearances in Zoolander and The Cat in The Hat followed by a starring role in House of Wax), writer, albeit of her own autobiography, and model. These extra jobs are thought to have netted her around an extra $6m, a tidy sum which no doubt more than makes up for the ridicule Paris faces daily.
More recently Paris has get in on the music industry, founding Heiress Records on which she will produce her own debut record ? first single ’Screwed’ has already been leaked and, naturally, slated. She has also hit the headlines for becoming engaged to fellow heir Paris Latsis with whom she is regularly seen on the LA and New York party scene.
