He said: "We are sure it will all be sorted out when the police investigate."
It is believed the woman Campbell allegedly assaulted was her counsellor.
The Streatham supermodel was discovered in Covent Garden at the age of 15.
She quickly shot to fame, becoming the first black model to appear on the covers of Time magazine, and French and British Vogue.
Over the years she has worked with many top designers, fronting campaigns for Ralph Lauren, Versace and and Dolce & Gabbana, among others. She has also worked with top photographers including Patrick DeMarchelier, Herb Ritts and Mario Testino.
She has branched out to undertake a number of projects beyond the realms of the catwalk.
As a writer she co-authored a novel entitled Swan, and released a photo book called Naomi.
She has also appeared in a number of films, including movies by Michelangelo Antonioni, Steve DiMarco and Spike Lee.
US judge’s warning to no show Naomi - Sept 27, 2020
Naomi Campbell has been warned that a warrant will be issued for her arrest if she fails to turn up for her next court date, after she was a no-show at a hearing.
The British supermodel is "absolutely obliged" to be at Manhattan Criminal Court on November 15 over accusations that she threw a mobile phone at her housekeeper’s head, the judge stressed.
The reason for her absence from the hearing remained a mystery after her lawyer, David Breitbart, said it was not because of work commitments but refused to explain further.
He said the District Attorney’s office had offered him a plea bargain but he was still considering whether or not to accept it.
A bench warrant for Campbell’s arrest was stayed because prosecutors did not seek to have it enforced, but Judge James Gibbons said that if Campbell did not show on the new date, it would be acted on.
"I want to make it clear that she is absolutely obliged to appear at the next hearing," he said.
"If she fails to appear on that court date, the warrant will go into effect."
Mr Breitbart said Campbell, 36, was "not able" to be at the court.
But he noted that she had not appeared in recent New York or Milan fashion shows, saying it was not a "professional commitment" that had kept Campbell away. He refused to comment on whether a health problem was the reason for her absence.
Campbell has already denied second degree assault.
Naomi fled a shop in tears - July 11, 2020
Naomi Campbell fled a shop in tears after a shop assistant refused to believe she was who she said she was. The supermodel was shopping for luggage in Peter Jones, in London, but when she handed over her credit card, the store assistant reportedly said: "I don’t think you’re Naomi Campbell."
At first, Naomi, famed for her fiery temper, thought the woman was joking but once she realised she was being serious, the pair exchanged heated words. The 36-year-old catwalk queen angrily insisted she was the real Naomi Campbell, but the shop assistant still refused to accept the card.
A spokesman for the model said: "There were a lot of people in the store and the situation was humiliating. Naomi was shaking with anger." Store management reportedly tried to intervene but Naomi stormed out and refused to ever visit the shop again. The supermodel is currently awaiting trial for an alleged assault on her former assistant Ana Scolavino.

She was raised by her grandparents since her mother, the ambitious Valerie, was making her way around the world with an exotic dance troupe. At 13, precocious Naomi started at the Italia Conti stage school. Two years later she was ’discovered’ in Covent Garden by a modelling scout.
Recently, she has been seeking anger therapy - her American agency fired her on the grounds that she was ’unbearable’ and published the following statement: ’No amount of money or prestige could further justify the abuse she has imposed on our staff and clients.’ She recently pleaded guilty to assaulting her assistant with the mobile phone she normally keeps clamped to her ear. Naomi had a top 10 hit with Babywoman in Japan and has a reputation for being always late.
She has been romanced by a string of men including Mike Tyson, Robert De Niro, Joaquin Cortes and was rumoured to have had a fling with Joseph Fiennes. She is currently dating Italian millionaire Flavio Briatore.
As well as modelling and a stab at a music career she has also penned a novel entitled Swan (1995) and has appeared in the film Pret-a-Porter, she also appeared in an episode of Absolutely Fabulous and once was a pupil in Grange Hill. Naomi has also just launched her own perfume. She also has an apartment in Chelsea. (written 2001)
