Mutya's tattoo habit - Oct 23 2007
Mutya Buena is set to remove her body art - so she can start all over again.
The former Sugababe sports tattoos all over her body, including Chinese doodles, her sisters' name, and the word 'lady'.
But now Mutya wants a clean slate, so that she can replace the old tattoos with new ones.
"I've got tattoos literally all over," she told the Daily Star. "I got the first one when I was 16. I'm going to get them taken off. The ones on my arms and the Chinese writing I want off first.
"I know this place that can take off only black ink. It's five sessions. Then I'll have a free arm to start again.
"I've finished with these tattoos now. The reason? Space."
But there's one tattoo the 22-year-old won't be getting rid of - the giant floral pattern on her left thigh.
The tribute to her mother Rose isn't even complete yet, and Mutya still needs to endure one more sitting for it.
"I still have an hour to do on the leg one - an hour of pain," she admitted. "I hate it, all the nips. But it's for my mum."
Mutya plans to launch own label? - Sept 28 2007
Mutya Buena is rumoured to be planning to launch her own music label.
The songstress - who quit Sugababes in December 2005 - is hoping that her new company will "represent the underground", reports the Daily Star.
The 22-year-old is quoted as saying: "Having my own label’s been in my head from the beginning, representing the underground with mix CDs.
"I want to be able to keep putting stuff out in an underground way. I need to promote the scene as well."
She continued: "I have loads of friends with amazing voices that want to get down on record.
"They aren’t in the industry, but have great voices. I’d love to give them the opportunity to get started."
Mutya - who releases her new single Just A Little Bit on October 22 - reportedly says she wants to start setting up her own studio.
"I’ve just moved to a new space so I can do my studio up," she said. "Since I only work a couple of days a week I want to get my head down and start straight away.
"I’m going to look for someone to engineer stuff for me but I can record stuff by myself if necessary."
Sugababe denies diss - July 20 2007
Mutya Buena has denied that she is criticising her ex-bandmates in one of her new tracks.
Sugababes fans were suspicious of her Song 4 Mutya, a collaboration with Groove Armada, which contains the line: "Is that who has replaced me? What a diss!"
But she has apparently denied that it has anything to do with new Sugababe Amelle Berrabah, telling the Daily Star: "I’ve had to do a lot of explaining because of that line but it’s got nothing to do with Amelle or the girls.
"Weird people have been coming up to me saying, ’What do you mean Amelle can never take your place?’
"We’re totally different people and that song is completely about a guy - but if fans don’t wanna accept that, then fine."
The North London girl is also collaborating with her friend Amy Winehouse for a Dirty Dancing-inspired track.
"I’m into anything to do with Dirty Dancing," Mutya said.

In 2000 the trio, now called Sugababes, released their first single to widespread acclaim. Overload reached the British Top Ten and earned the girls their first Brit nomination. However theie debut album, One Touch, failed to reach the levels of popularity expected and with Siobhan leaving the band amid rumours of in-fighting the group were dropped by their label despite hiring ex Atomic Kitten Heidi Range as their newest member.
However with a second album already part recorded the group found new representation in the shape of Island Records. The first single from Angels With Dirty Faces, Freak Like Me, was released in 2002 and fast became the breakthrough single of the year establishing Sugababes as the UK’s top pop act in one easy step. They continued their success with further singles including Round Round and Stronger and soon after with a new album, Three, which produced stand out single Hole in the Head.
Taller in More Ways followed in 2005 along with single Push The Button. However during promotion for the next single, Ugly, Mutya was conspicuously absent and in December 2005 it was announced that she was to leave the band although was to remain ’best of friends’ with Heidi and Keisha.
Immediately after splitting from Sugababes Mutya began working on solo material, collaborating with George Michael, Groove Armada and MC Viper among others. Her duet with Michael was released soon after but the lack of a video promo was blamed for a poor chart positioning. Signed to Island Records Mutya has recorded an album which reportedly includes collaborations with Pharrell and Justin Timberlake and her debut single, Real Girl, is set to be released in June 2007.
Currently living in London, Mutya has one daughter, Tahlia Maya with boyfriend Jay.
