A boy for Liz! - 05/04/02
Just in case you’re blind to the tabloids, we thought it worth mentioning that Chelsea gal Liz Hurley has given birth to a bonny baby boy. The new arrival was born two weeks early yesterday afternoon, but mother and baby are said to be doing fine. The child will be called Damian Charles, a rather ominous name, when the seemingly devilish man Liz insists is the father will have nothing to do with them. The name has never quite lost The Omen connotations nor "plonker" Rodney’s fears of Del Boy’s child in Only Fools and Horses - not something you’d think Liz would like to be associated with. Millionaire Steve Bing, who Liz claims to be the father, said of the birth, ’I’m not bothered; I really have no comment to make on the baby.’ Liz has demanded a DNA test to prove his paternity. Meanwhile a man arrested outside Liz’s home and charged for stalking her is to appear at West London Magistrates’ Court. Petar Mihajlovic, 32 was arrested outside the model’s house in Chelsea hours after she gave birth to Damian. Mihajlovic had previously claimed the media concocted the birth and that Liz was never pregnant.
Stalker re-visits Liz - 03/04/02
Pregnant Liz Hurley has again become the victim of a stalker who has already been arrested for harassing her. Petar Mihalovic, 33 has been spotted hanging around her Chelsea home and posting things through her letterbox. Mr Mihalovic is claiming that her pregnancy has been made up by newspapers and has urged her to "get rid" of her unborn child. He was arrested at the end of last year after Hugh Grant, her former boyfriend, called the police and reported him. The letter sent to Hurley is believed to have said: "Don’t have the baby. Get rid of it. If you’ve got to keep it, say it’s mine."
Latest instalment of the Hurely-Bing saga - 21/01/02
The grey-haired one has filed a lawsuit against tabloid rag the Daily Mail after the paper alleged he had hired a private investigator to dig dirt to harm the model, party girl and sometime actress’s reputation. Bing said, ’Under no circumstances is it my intention to hurt Miss Hurley in any way, shape or form, and any reports that I have hired a private detective in an attempt to damage her reputation are completely false.’ This the second lawsuit Bing has filed against a British newspaper, after The Mirror called him a ’sleazeball’ and published his business number, suggesting readers call him to tell them what they think of him.
Meanwhile Liz has been planning her means of getting away from all the attention when the baby’s due in April - she will spend the weeks leading up to the birth on the Caribbean island of Mustique, staying in a six bedroom villa with old flame Hugh Grant, as well as her sister, Kate and friend, Patsy Kensit. It’s pretty likely they’ll have even more company -I bet paparazzi types are planning their business jaunts to the Caribbean as I type. Is that the distant sound of lawsuit filing I hear again?

At 21, Hurley got her first film role in the 1987 film Aria after having attended the London Studio Centre on scholarship. Hurley’s role in the film Remando al Viento that same year could be considered a crucial one, as it also starred her future boyfriend Hugh Grant.
However, despite acting and modelling jobs it was a certain safety pinned Versace frock that made Liz on of Britain’s most famous faces. She wore what would soon simply be called ’that dress’ to the premiere of Hugh’s breakthrough film Four Weddings and a Funeral. More attention followed when Estee Lauder signed Hurley to be the face of their cosmetics.
Although together for several years, even sticking together through the embarrassing Divine Brown incident, Hugh and Liz split in 2001 although they remain friends to this day. Liz had a brief fling with billionaire Steve Bing, during which she became pregnant with her son Damien. A very public battle occured during her pregnancy with Bing claiming that the child was not his. Liz found vindication when the child was born - not only was he the spit of Bing but a dna test proved without doubt what we could all see.
Liz is now engaged to Indian businessman Arun Nayer and their impending nuptuals have been the source of much speculation with several dates touted and even Hugh Grant has been suggested as Arun’s best man.
Meanwhile Liz’s career has taken a forward leap. Her acting credentials may be lousy (Bedazzled anyone?) and her stint as presenter of Project Catwalk might have been panned but the very British beauty has found her niche. Elizabeth Hurley Beach, her own range of beachwear has been flying off the shelves in the UK and US while her Estee Lauder job goes from strength to strength.
Liz splits her time between Ampney Crucis in the Cotswolds and California.
