Lindsay Lohan
- Profession: Actress
- Place/Date of Birth: New York, 02 July 2020
During her time at the Cirque Lodge, Li-Lo has not been twiddling her thumbs. She has been seen taking cycling and white water-rafting excursions, and was reunited with her long-estranged dad, Michael. There are also reports that she is planning to write a book about her experiences.
Li-Lo gets court date - Sept 12 2007
Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has another court date.
A judge has refused to dismiss portions of a lawsuit against the 21-year-old over an October 2005 accident in which her Mercedes-Benz collided with a van.
LA judge Michael Stern rejected a motion that argued the lawsuit lacked legal sufficiency, and set April 7 as the date for the star’s trial.
The California Highway Patrol concluded that Raymundo Ortega caused the accident by making an illegal U-turn, but he sued Lindsay and is seeking at least £100,000 in damages.
Ortega was knocked out in the crash, according to his lawyer, Robert Klein. Lindsay and a female passenger sustained minor injuries.
Ortega’s case is that the actress was fleeing paparazzi and was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
"This case is about responsibility and she’s not taking responsibility," Klein said outside court. Lindsay’s lawyer, David Ozeran, said outside court that there was no evidence that the Mean Girls star was intoxicated.
Last month, Lindsay agreed to spend a day in jail and complete a drug treatment programme after pleading guilty or no contest to misdemeanour drunken driving and cocaine charges stemming from arrests earlier this year in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica.
Li-Lo’s Emotional Reunion - Sept 10 2007
Lindsay Lohan has had an emotional reunion with her dad in rehab after an estrangement of three years.
Michael Lohan travelled to Utah on Thursday to visit his 21-year-old daughter, according to E! Online, and the pair were spotted reuniting in the parking lot of the Cirque Lodge rehabilitation centre.
"The moment Lindsay saw Michael, she started running and jumped into her father’s arms," says an eyewitness. "Her father hugged her and swung her around. Lindsay was so happy. It was very emotional."
It was reported that Michael spent several hours with his daughter, although he refused to go into details when contacted for comment.
"I can’t comment on my relationship with my daughter," he said. "But [the reunion] was amazing."
Like his daughter, Michael is a recovering addict, and he spent two years in prison on a variety of charges before being released in March. He finalised his acrimonious divorce from the star’s mum Dina last month.
Lindsay’s Parents Reach Settlement - Aug 20 2007
Lindsay Lohan’s parents, Michael and Dina, have reached a settlement in their contentious divorce, hence avoiding a public trial.
"Mr and Mrs Lohan, you have both demonstrated to me extraordinarily good judgment in resolving the matter as you did," Judge Robert Ross told the Lohans.
John DiMascio Jr, Michael’s attorney, says he expects the divorce to be finalised in around 90 days, depending on how quickly the divorce documents are filed and then processed by the court.
As she left the court in Long Island, New York, Dina told People: "Now the healing process can begin for my children and myself."
And when asked how Lindsay, who is currently in rehab, is doing, she said: "Fantastic".

Born to a wealthy family Lindsay was nonetheless put to work from an early age. At three she was signed to a modelling agency and quickly built up a portfolio of work with the likes of Toys R Us and Calvin Klein Kids. As a teen she appeared in numerous magazines such as Elle Girl and Bliss and in television commercials for Jell-O among others.
At ten years of age Lindsay bagged a role on American soap Another World which she soon abandoned when offered a big screen part in the remake of The Parent Trap in which she played twins. The part brought her to the attention of filmmakers throughout Hollywood and ensured future parts would roll on in.
Made for TV movies and a short lived sitcom part followed before Lindsay, then sixteen, was offered another cult remake - Freaky Friday - alongside Jamie Lee Curtis. Two further teen flicks followed, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and the Clueless-esque Mean Girls. The success of the two movies cemented Lindsay’s status as Teen Queen. Closely followed by Herbie: Fully Loaded Lindsay hoped to make the transition to adult film star smoothly however 2006’s Just My Luck was not well received. More serious roles are set to follow in Georgia Rule, Speechless, A Woman of No Importance and The Best Time of Our Lives.
As well as acting Lindsay had taken the opportunity to showcase her musical skills in her films and before long she was taken under the wing of Mariah Carey’s ex Tommy Mottola. Her debut album, Speak, was released in 2004 with the single Rumours earning critical acclaim. 2005’s A Little More Personal included a dramatically intimate track aimed at her father who had spent much of Lindsay’s life in prison. She is currently working on a third album.
Since 2003 Lindsay has been regular tabloid fodder beginning with a rumoured feud with fellow teen actress Hilary Duff. Her weight has been a serious issue, with the actress admitting that she had ’nearly died’, before dedicating herself to getting her shape back. She has also gained the reputation of girl about town, partying hard with the likes of Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton whilst dealing with a run of bad luck which has included three car crashes and some rumoured illnesses.
