Topshop Unveils New Kate Collection - Sept 7 2007

The latest Kate Moss collection for Topshop is to be unveiled.

The third range, for the autumn/winter season 2007, features 70s tailoring, alongside punk-inspired metallics and silk-chiffon day dresses.

The supermodel revealed her first clothing line for the High Street chain back in May, with more items added in June.

The Croydon-born catwalk queen was reportedly paid £3 million to create the fashion range.

More than 1,000 shoppers mobbed Topshop’s flagship store in Oxford Street, central London, for the original launch of the collection on the night of April 30.

The latest collection, which ranges from £15 to £150 in price, features a liquid-pewter maxi-length T-shirt dress, grey drainpipe jeans and a shrunken woollen jacket.

It also includes a black woollen "waistcoat-jacket" with cropped sleeves, cream and grey chiffon pirate blouses, and high-waisted, wide leg 70s woollen trousers.

The range will be available in stores from mid-October.

Kate’s new rock man? - Aug 5 2007
Kate Moss seems to be getting over one rocker in the arms of another, after she was spotted with Jamie Hince from The Kills.

The 33-year-old supermodel, who dumped lover Pete Doherty in July, has apparently been seeing Jamie for a few weeks after he split from long-term model girlfriend Valentine Fillol-Cordier about two months ago.

A friend told the Daily Mirror: "Jamie was with Valentine for at least 18 months but now it looks like that’s over and he’s with Kate Moss."

Guitarist Jamie, 39, set up The Kills with American singer Alison Mosshart in 2000 and the pair used to share an apartment.

The friend added: "He has a very intense friendship with Alison, which has made it difficult to be in relationships with other people.

"There have been lots of rumours that Jamie had a relationship with Alison but there’s nothing to that. They are very close but that’s it."

Kate reportedly took Jamie to the pub in North London at the weekend before they headed to a friend’s house with her pal Davinia Taylor.

The Kills, who launched their debut album Keep On Your Mean Side in 2003, are now recording their third album.

The pair’s agents refused to comment.

I’m not a celeb, says Kate - Aug 8 2007
She’s one of the most photographed people in the world, but it seems Kate Moss doesn’t think of herself as a celebrity.

The supermodel, who recently split up with bad boy lover Pete Doherty, told Women’s Wear Daily: "I don’t see myself as a celebrity; I do my job.

"I see celebrity as doing the red carpet - I don’t do that. I don’t like that word."

The mum-of-one, who has a successful fashion line with TopSshop, said she was hoping to expand into the business world.

"I’d like to be a successful businesswoman for sure," she added.

"I like to know how many units are sold. It’s a learning curve, but something I’m loving."

Her next venture is a new perfume - and a haircare range is also in the pipeline.

"It’s something I’ve thought of doing for a long time, but it just never felt right," Kate explained. "It felt natural to take the next step."

Biography

In 1988, Kate Moss was discovered by Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm model agency, at JFK airport at the age of just 14, as she prepared to board a flight home to London with her father.

After a series of shoots for teenage magazines, it was Harper’s Bazaar that finally launched her into the international arena. In 1992, she became the Face of Calvin Klein. Moss originally spearheaded the controversial "waif" look which critics claimed encouraged anorexia in impressionable teenagers. The girl from Croydon, who once said she "might’ve been a bank manager" now divides her time between London and LA, where she is often seen at The Viper Rooms, the controversial club owned by her one-time actor boyfriend Johnny Depp.

She has appeared in several notable documentaries about the fashion world and in 1995, released a hard-back book of pictures entitled simply "Kate". Having checked into London’s £300-a-day Priory Clinic in November 1998 suffering from exhaustion, Kate emerged refreshed the following January to announce that she had spent the last decade modelling "drunk". She told The Face magazine, "That’s what you do. You always have champagne before the shows. Always. Even at ten in the morning. It got to the point one time when we were [saying], ’We’re not going out without any champagne’."

Losing the Calvin Klein contract to fellow Brit Lisa Ratliffe in 1999, Kate has now taken on the status of fashion icon. In the May 2000 issue of Vogue, she played muse to a variety of the most cutting edge artists and photographers. In London she is still represented by Storm. Written in 2000
