Fergie, 47, was joined by her daughters Princess Beatrice, 18, and Princess Eugenie, 16, while 32-year-old Kate travelled with her five-year-old daughter Lila Grace and a group of friends.
But there was said to be no sign of Kate’s singer boyfriend Pete Doherty.
A friend of Fergie’s told the paper: "The duchess has been invited out to Thailand by her great friend David Tang and his wife Lucy.
"He has invited several other friends including Kate Moss. By coincidence she and the duchess are staying at the same resort but they are certainly not holidaying together."
The celebs will be staying in £5,000 a week villas, each with its own plunge pool, live-in maid and cook.
Kate finishes TopShop line? - Dec 24 2006
Supermodel Kate Moss has apparently finished designing her debut line of clothes for TopShop.
She has also got into the festive spirit and sent all the staff gifts worth £100,000, reports The Daily Star.
A source said: "Kate has been very, very generous and certainly knows her stuff when it comes to design. She has created an impressive range and impressed staff further by giving them each Christmas presents.
"The gifts ranged from rings to bracelets to designer belts, purses, wallets and scarf sets. She sent them to about 300 people. It was very sweet."
The 32-year-old agreed to work with Topshop last September after meeting with shopping boss Sir Philip Green during London Fashion Week.
She has collaborated with the chain’s in-house design team working on items such as jeans, bags and vests.
Her first collection is expected to hit the shelves in April.
When the deal was announced, she said: "I have always been a big fan of Topshop and regularly shop there. I love what they stand for and am very excited at the thought of working with them. It’s going to be great fun."
Kate plays ’total slag’ on stage - Nov 23 2006
Supermodel Kate Moss took to the stage to play a "total slag" in the Little Britain stage show. (see images)
Appearing alongside Vicky Pollard as her sister Katie, Moss said: "The Pollard sisters in the house - west country!"
Vicky, played by Matt Lucas, said: "I’m the pretty one."
Katie added: "I’m the easy one. I’m a total slag."
The supermodel wore a blue tracksuit top, black leggings, white trainers and a scruffy ponytail during her brief appearance for Comic Relief.
She then departed to go "on the rob" as Vicky yelled back: "Katie, Katie, lose some weight you fat bitch."
Russell Brand also appeared in the show in a sketch involving transvestites Emily, played by David Walliams, and Florence (Lucas).
He appeared as a plumber who stripped off his boiler suit to reveal his bra, suspenders and stockings.
The show, Little Britain’s Big Night, took place at the Hammersmith Apollo in West London last night, and was being filmed by the BBC to be broadcast in March.
Actress Patsy Kensit made a cameo as a dungaree-clad student who had a run-in with Walliams’ un-PC university administrator.
In a surreal twist, the real Dennis Waterman, of Minder fame, appeared alongside his fictional, miniature counterpart of the same name.
Radio One presenter Chris Moyles was subjected to a weigh-in by Fatfighters leader Marjorie Dawes (Lucas), who told the audience "Don’t laugh at the blob, that’s insensitive."

After a series of shoots for teenage magazines, it was Harper’s Bazaar that finally launched her into the international arena. In 1992, she became the Face of Calvin Klein. Moss originally spearheaded the controversial "waif" look which critics claimed encouraged anorexia in impressionable teenagers. The girl from Croydon, who once said she "might’ve been a bank manager" now divides her time between London and LA, where she is often seen at The Viper Rooms, the controversial club owned by her one-time actor boyfriend Johnny Depp.
She has appeared in several notable documentaries about the fashion world and in 1995, released a hard-back book of pictures entitled simply "Kate". Having checked into London’s £300-a-day Priory Clinic in November 1998 suffering from exhaustion, Kate emerged refreshed the following January to announce that she had spent the last decade modelling "drunk". She told The Face magazine, "That’s what you do. You always have champagne before the shows. Always. Even at ten in the morning. It got to the point one time when we were [saying], ’We’re not going out without any champagne’."
Losing the Calvin Klein contract to fellow Brit Lisa Ratliffe in 1999, Kate has now taken on the status of fashion icon. In the May 2000 issue of Vogue, she played muse to a variety of the most cutting edge artists and photographers. In London she is still represented by Storm. Written in 2000
