She added: "They keep giving me lead roles, which is silly. I’d ruin it."

Joss Stone still loves ex-lover Beau Dozier - Nov 28, 2020
Joss Stone has admitted she still loves ex-lover Beau Dozier - despite ditching him. The teen soul sensation split from record producer Beau last week after romancing for two years - but confessed he is still the love of her life. The 18-year-old is quoted in the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: "You don’t just stop loving someone because you stop going out with them. "Beau was the first and greatest love of my life. We split because we realised the relationship had become a friendship. There was no drama, no screaming. It’s important to move on."

Last month it was revealed the blonde has landed her first movie role. The singer will make her acting debut alongside soccer star David Beckham in the upcoming sequel to football film ’Goal!’. The star will play a femme fatale who tries to steal the leading man, played by Mexican heartthrob Kuno Becker, from his long-term girlfriend, played by Anna Friel. An insider revealed: "Joss is really pleased they’ve decided to go for her, even though she’s not a trained actress. "The role is kind of different to the way most people see her, as she’s going to have to play a bit of a bitch - that’s what she’s looking forward to most!"

Joss Stone is heartbroken - Nov 21, 2020
Joss Stone has split from her boyfriend Beau Dozier. The beautiful blonde is said to be heartbroken by the breakdown of her two-year relationship with the music producer - but insists her hectic work schedule wasn’t too blame.

The star - who has been touring America - is quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: "I don’t believe that anybody’s lifestyle and somebody being busy can stop two people from being together if it’s right. "If it’s not meant to be, then it’s not meant to be. "Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn’t. But we’ve parted as friends. He’s just the nicest person that walks this earth. He’s lovely." Last month, the soul singer sparked rumours she had split from Beau - the son of Motown songwriter Lamont Dozier - after appearing in concert not wearing the "promise ring" he had given her.

A source revealed at the time: "Things don’t look good for Joss and Beau. She’s away touring with the Rolling Stones, which is great for her career but not so good for her relationship. And the promise ring Beau gave her has been oddly missing from her left hand." Beau gave Joss the ring - which is encrusted with diamonds and purple gems - as a symbol of their relationship when she was 16. She moved into his Californian home a year later.

Biography

Joscelyn Eve Stoker was born on April 11 1987 in Dover on the Kent coast. Brought up in Devon she developed an early love for soul music and, in particular, Aretha Franklin. At just fourteen Joss appeared on the BBC’s Star For A Night singing (You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman and just a year later she travelled to New York to meet with record label S-Curve, with whom she secured a record deal.

Rebranded as young soul diva Joss Stone the sixteen year old burst on to the scene with a reworking of The White Stripes’ Fell In Love With A Girl, earning her critical acclaim from the notoriously hard to please music press and ensuring that her debut album The Soul Sessions went top five here in the UK.

Joss’ record company wasted no time in following up her success with a hastily released second album, Mind, Body and Soul in 2004. Made up entirely of original songs the album debuted at number one in the charts, making Joss the youngest artist to reach the spot, and spawned several popular singles including You Had Me and Don’t Cha Wanna Ride?

In 2005 the singer was presented with two Brit Awards, nominated for three Grammy Awards and appeared at massive charity concert Live8 in Hyde Park…not bad going for an eighteen year old from Devon.
