And this time around Joss doesn’t want to define her new material as being one particular style.
"It’s difficult to describe really, and that’s a good thing, I think," she said.
"I don’t want to put it in any genre, I don’t wanna call it R&B, soul, hip hop, I don’t wanna call it anything, I just want people to listen."
Joss nags Lauryn’s mum - Dec 30 2006
It seems Joss Stone found a novel way of getting the Fugees’ Lauryn Hill to work on her new album - by phoning her mum.
The Devon teenager’s third album, Introducing Joss Stone, features several collaborations with her favourite artists including Lauryn and rapper Common.
"I called her mum every day for like a month and a half," Joss told MTV News.
"I couldn’t get a hold of [Lauryn], and there was no answer from [her camp] -- I couldn’t get a yes or a no. So I just kept calling her mother."
But her nagging tactics obviously worked as Lauryn finally agreed to contribute to the track Music, which Joss described as her love letter to song.
"I wrote it based off of the Fugees track The Mask, but now the track has changed drastically -- but the bass line’s similar," Joss said.
"I’ve wanted to work with [Lauryn] since the first time I heard her voice. It’s a dream come true for me -- a goal I can mark off my list. I love her so much, and she’s just so talented. She’s just a poet."
Joss makes an entrance for Dusty tribute - Nov 15 2006
Despite performances from some of the biggest names in music, it was British youngster Joss Stone who stole the show at the UK Hall of Fame’s glitzy induction ceremony. (see photos)

The star-studded event also saw performances from the Godfather of Soul James Brown, Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson and US rockers Bon Jovi,
Former US president Bill Clinton and chat show host Oprah Winfrey paid tribute to Bon Jovi in a recorded message as they were inducted.
Rocker Rod Stewart accepted his award by video link from Los Angeles, saying: "It’s only quarter to one here but what the hell, I’m going to have a drink," before he swore after accidentally dropping his glass.
Since the launch of The UK Music Hall of Fame in 2004, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Madonna, Bob Dylan, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, U2, Bob Marley, Elvis Presley and the Kinks have been inducted.

Rebranded as young soul diva Joss Stone the sixteen year old burst on to the scene with a reworking of The White Stripes’ Fell In Love With A Girl, earning her critical acclaim from the notoriously hard to please music press and ensuring that her debut album The Soul Sessions went top five here in the UK.
Joss’ record company wasted no time in following up her success with a hastily released second album, Mind, Body and Soul in 2004. Made up entirely of original songs the album debuted at number one in the charts, making Joss the youngest artist to reach the spot, and spawned several popular singles including You Had Me and Don’t Cha Wanna Ride?
In 2005 the singer was presented with two Brit Awards, nominated for three Grammy Awards and appeared at massive charity concert Live8 in Hyde Park…not bad going for an eighteen year old from Devon.
