Jennifer's a tough nut - Oct 22 2007
She may portray the girl-next-door but Jennifer Aniston has admitted how she has become a hard nut.
"I used to care a hell of a lot more about what people said or thought," she says in the November issue of Harper's Bazaar, referring to her split from ex-husband Brad Pitt.
"But that had to change when my life was under a microscope being scrutinised and my personal life was being talked about. You have to go, 'This is not acceptable in any way', whether it's about me personally or in business, success versus failure."
She adds: "It's so negative. It's such bizarre negativity."
Jennifer, who is currently filming He's Just Not That Into You with Drew Barrymore, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Connelly, also revealed she wishes she could experience other lives.
"I would love to be Oprah - for just one day," she says.
"Or I'd be a spy. A very glamorous spy who plays poker and lives in Monaco - and has affairs with Daniel Craig."
Jennifer: Keep work first - Oct 16 2007
Having been subjected to a great deal of scrutiny with her marriage and subsequent split from Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston has a word of advice for those Hollywood stars who constantly come under the spotlight - just do your job.
"Always keep work first," she says in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine, which is out later this month.
"Hype is second. Don’t let that become part of your reality. Just stay real and do your job."
The former Friends star added that she has changed her attitude to the media since becoming famous.
"I used to care a hell of a lot about what people said or thought," she admits. "But that had to change when my life was under a microscope, being scrutinised and my personal life talked about."
However, this change hasn’t stopped Jen from considering a move from LA to New York.
"I’m just tired of Los Angeles," she reportedly said.
"If you can get away from the paparazzi and they don’t know where you are, you can actually walk, walk, walk."
Jen sells more than ex Brad - Oct 7 2007
Jennifer Aniston is a top seller in the US.
According to Forbes.com, Brad Pitt’s ex-wife tops the list of best-selling famous faces, selling the most magazines around, ahead of other famous stars such as Brangelina, Sandra Bullock and Reese Witherspoon.
"She’s the classic wronged woman," says Candace Trunzo, editor in chief of Star magazine.
"I think that most women can relate to and empathise with someone that was so in love with a man who, in an incredible Hollywood twist, leaves her for his co-star in a film."
The runner-up on the list was her ex, Brad, who has had little trouble scoring big sales on his own, followed by Scarlett Johansson, Angelina Jolie and Reese.
But while the former Friends star moves mags, Britney Spears leaves them on the shelves.
Although the troubled singer graced 18 covers in the six months the study covered, her face caused sales to slump 600,000 copies below average.
In Touch Weekly’s editor in chief Richard Spencer believes it’s because readers are bored of her consistently bad behaviour.
"Usually there’s a roller coaster of emotions. But unfortunately for Britney, there’s been no roller coaster lately - there’s just been the downhill," he says.

Recognised as a talented comedy actress, she began working on the Howard Stern Radio Show in the 80’s and 90’s, before moving to Hollywood and launching a career in television. There were several false starts as shows were cancelled, and her appearance in the horror movie ’Leprechaun’ attracted so much critical derision that she seriously considered giving up acting.
Cue Friends, for which she auditioned in 1994. The producers originally wanted her to audition for the role of Monica Geller, but she managed to persuade them that her talents would be far better used in the role of Rachel Green. She ended up playing the character for ten years, between 1994 and 2004. So successful was the show and so well loved was her character that during the final three seasons she commanded a fee of one million dollars per episode. The critics, once cruel, were now united in praise, and she was nominated five times for an Emmy award including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
Since then she has been in several major Hollywood features, although she has not yet made a hit film.
Aniston’s acting talents rest upon an "everygirl" persona. This perhaps explains why the media has always taken an interest in her personal life. She previously dated Adam Duritz and actor Tate Donovan before beginning a long-term relationship with Brad Pitt. They were married in 2000. The pair divorced in spectacular fashion in 2005, with many in the press suspecting infidelity on Pitt’s part and Aniston’s refusal to have children as causes (She has since strongly denied that she doesn’t want children). She has remained tight lipped about her personal life ever since.
