Biggins takes I’m A Celebrity crown - Dec 1 2007
Christopher Biggins has beaten Janice Dickinson to be crowned ’King of the Jungle’.

The pantomime star took the I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! title, with Jason ’J’ Brown coming third.

"It’s been a wonderful, wonderful experience and I can’t believe that I’m here, that I’ve done it," Biggins effused.

"I’ve made wonderful friends and I’ve done wonderful things that I never thought I would do. Unbelievable fun, it was just the best."

The tense results followed a dramatic day, in which the contestants faced their own personal nightmares.

Biggins was given the Bushtucker Bonanza on his final trial.

He was asked to eat witchetty grub, a crocodile’s foot, three cockroaches, a kangaroo penis, and the final dish - kangaroo testicles.

At the sight of the last dish, he cried: "Aaaaarrrgh, it’s revolting."

J, who was the first to leave on the final day, said: "I’ve had a blast of a time. I love being outdoors.

"At one stage it was a bit tense in there, there were lots of big personalities. The younger group didn’t have a bad word with one another, it was the older ones."

Runner-up Janice Dickinson won five stars in her final Bushtucker Trial - despite being bitten by a rat.

She had a variety of creepy-crawlies dropped on her including mealworms and cockroaches.

Later, she told Ant and Dec that she equated the jungle experience to childbirth. "It’s the most difficult thing I’ve ever done," she said.

"I thought it was a holiday, I thought it was a spa..." she admitted. "I’d do it again, but I miss my children and my boyfriend and the dog."

Biography

Jason Brown rose to fame on the back of an advertisement in The Stage Magazine, which asked for young male singers/dancers to audition for a boy band-style group with "attitude and edge". Five was the result…

Formed in 1997 by the same team that created the Spice Girls the band enjoyed chart success worldwide, with releases such as ‘Slam Dunk (Da Funk)’, and albums 5ive, Invincible and Kingsize. They disbanded in 2001, after selling close to 20 million records, and having 11 top ten singles and 4 top ten albums in the UK.

Brown currently resides in north London and has recently become involved in writing/producing for other musicians. He kept an almost invisible profile since Five disbanded in late 2001, although he has been involved in several protests in the London area, notably against UK involvement in the wars in the Middle East.
