Biography
Born in Kent in 1942 Jan worked as an actress in New Zealand and Australia for several years before returning to the UK to work in kid’s TV. A stint on Pebble Mill in the mid to late 70s proved a breakthrough and Jan became the nation’s favourite newsreader.
The 90s saw Jan appear as a stand in newsreader on The Big Breakfast however she has concentrated on charity work over the last few years, making only occasional television appearances.
