Eva pals up with Posh - Dec 12 2007
Eva Longoria apparently has a new best friend - Posh Spice Victoria Beckham.
The brunette actress - who plays sexy Gabrielle Solis in US TV hit Desperate Housewives - has palled up with Posh because the pair have so much in common, reports the Daily Mirror.
Not only are they both famous, but the ladies are both married to sports stars - Victoria to footy ace David Beckham and Eva to basketball player Tony Parker.
Eva has now heaped praise on Posh, telling Glamour magazine she's never off the phone to her new friend these days.
"Victoria Beckham is lovely. I really admire the wife and mother she is," said the petite actress.
She went on: "I do have a lot in common with Victoria. Both of our husbands are athletes and they travel a lot. We're always calling each other because they are always gone."
Eva Longoria unveils new restaurant - Nov 16 2007
With some time on her hands due to the current industry-wide writer’s strike, Eva Longoria is putting the finishing touches to her new Mexican-American restaurant Beso.
"I love to cook!" the 32-year-old Desperate Housewives star told People.com. "I’m a big, big cooker in my family, so this is kind of an extension of my house. I feel like everybody’s going to be in my living room."
Beso will be located in Hollywood, with Eva teaming up with celebrity chef Todd English.
"I’m so involved, I picked the uniforms," she said. "A lot of these are my recipes. We’ve developed a really fun menu."
Eva already has one firm fan of her cooking - new hubby Tony Parker.
"I cook anything he wants to eat," she said. "Everything. I mean, every day it’s a different date."
It seems Eva is loving every minute of being married, naming tying the knot with Tony earlier this year as something she’s particularly thankful for.
"I’m really lucky that I got to find someone like Tony who’s putting up with me," she smiled.
Eva supplies pizza to writers - Nov 7 2007
Eva Longoria has been supporting Hollywood writers on strike by giving pizzas to them.
In Toluca Lake, near Warner Bros studio, writers converged on a house serving as a location shoot for Desperate Housewives.
"We write the story-a, Eva Longoria," the 30 strikers chanted.
Eva left the house and handed out pizza to strikers, saying: "We are done, and we’ll be on the lines supporting you."
"I have a whole crew that will have a terrible holiday season because there’s no resolution," she said. "I care about people losing their homes, I care about my hair and makeup artists who can’t make ends meet."
Shooting continued inside the house on Tuesday despite the protests, said Chandler Hayes, a spokesman for ABC.
Marc Cherry, executive producer and creator of the show, said the writers had his blessing to picket as long as they were respectful to the actors.
Production of the show and at least six sitcoms filmed before live audiences will be halted as a result of the strike.
Producer Alexandra Cunningham said that Desperate Housewives will stop production on Wednesday after running out of scripts.
Shows that have already been completed will not last until Christmas, she said.
"It’s unfortunate. We want to get back to work," Cunningham said.
It came during the second day of the strike by the Writers Guild of America against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
