Gwynnie and Chris to split? - Mar 05
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin could be on the rocks. According to reports Gwyneth and Chris are going through a particularly rough patch, just months after their first child was born. Apparently the pair are having trouble balancing their careers and looking after Apple as well as adjusting to married life. Onlookers saw the culmination of the marital problems when Gwyneth stormed out of what was meant to be a romantic meal with her husband after an almighty row. Chris’s spokesperson denies that there are problems between the couple.

Cold-shoulder - August 04
Chris Martin pulled out of a collaboration with Mike Skinner of The Streets.

The Coldplay singer chose not to be included on Dry Your Eyes because he thought the single sounded better without him. Chris told press "there was a version of it on which I sung the chorus but I didn’t think it was as good" however rumour has it that although the version was never meant to see the light of day it has been leaked on the internet. Chris and Mike are looking forward to working together again in the future.

Gwynnie gives birth to an apple! - May 04
Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay hubbie Chris Martin are reported to the ’900 miles over the moon’ with the birth of their bouncing baby daughter, which weighed in at a hefty 9lb11oz!

Bizarrely named Apple Blythe Alison Martin was reportedly delivered at St John and St Elizabeth’s - hospital to the stars - in trendy St John’s Wood. The tot obviously thrived on her mum’s macrobiotic diet and yoga lifestyle - though Gwynnie’s plans to give birth in a purpose-built pool at her home were obviously abandoned in favour of pain relief and a comfy hospital bed.

Apple is the first grandchild for Paltrow’s mum Blythe Danner, who is said to the thrilled - although saddened - that her husband Bruce (who died in 2002) could not be here to share the good news. Gwyneth recently told an interviewer that she didn’t agree with mum’s returning to work after having children, so don’t expect to see her on the big screen for a few years to come. I bet her agent’s thrilled! By Hannah Mills

Future Press headlines for Apple Martin:
When she is a nanny: Granny Smith
When she has a tan: Golden Delicious
If she has too many boyfriends: Apple Tart
If she is a bit chunky: Apple Dumpling
If she has a breakdown: Apple Crumbles

Serenading the baby - April 04
Chris Martin has been singing to wife Gwyneth Paltrow’s ever growing baby bump.

The Coldplay singer hopes that the child will follow in his footsteps and become a musician too. Chris told press that he had played the baby a Coldplay song on his guitar and he or she seemed to like it. Even if the baby doesn’t take after its daddy, it’ll still have acting to fall back on though.

Married life is great! - 02/01/04
Chris Martin has confirmed his marriage to Gwyneth and that ’he can’t wait to be a dad’.

He told the Sun newspaper that he and actress Gwyneth Paltrow got married in California as ’it was great to tie the knot without any fuss’. He went on to say that they had no plans to move to the USA and were happy living in London.

Chris joked about the baby ’I’m thinking of calling it Liam or Noel. Apparently Liam said a few things about me that weren’t complimentary but I think I’ll repay the compliment by naming the baby after them.’
