Chris’ Radio Aid - Jan 05
Chris Evans has helped raise millions for the Asian Tsunami Appeal. The former DJ made a return from his three year holiday to help out victims of the earthquake and tsunami which left over 160,000 dead at the end of last year. A radio programme aired on several stations simultaneously (Virgin, the station Chris was sacked from, among them) and starred Chris, Johnny Vaughn, Davina McCall, Dermot O’Leary and Kate Thornton all contributed to the show which raised millions for the cause and reminded the country why we’ve been missing Chris. Brit Chris - Nov 04
Chris Evans is to host the Brit Awards. Chris, who recently split with wife Billie, has been off our screens since TFI Friday ended in December 2000. But now the longest honeymoon in the history of marriage is over the ginger one is bursting back on to our screens to present the Brit Awards. Chris is bound to know what he’s doing, having hosted the show twice previously at the height of his fame. The event takes place on 9th February and Chris is confident that he will make a good job of holding the prestigious show together. "I know I’m going to do a better job this time, and I know I’m going to have a better time doing it," he explained "I’m going to approach it slightly differently this time because I’m a bit older and a bit more experienced. So in that sense I am less nervous but more excited."
Not only that, but apparently Chris has hired a spot at Camden Market in North London to sell off some of his possessions. Says a pal: "He’s spending about £2,000 a week on storage and he’s had enough. It’s probably a bit of therapy for him." Blimey. Now all we need to know is when that sale is taking place!
Chris & Billie off?- Nov 04
Hmm - might be over again. Hard to tell.
Chris & Billie back together - Nov 04
On, off! On, off! Chris and Billie Piper can’t make up their minds. Just a week ago we were shedding a tear at the unhappy news that Chris Evans and Billie Piper were on their way to the divorce courts, but just days after they announced they were splitting for good Billie has told friends that she’s giving Chris another chance. According to the Evening Standard the couple only broke things off for a ’cooling off period’ and always intended to give their marriage another go. After a heart to heart in their favourite setting - the pub - Chris and Billie reportedly decided to try again and are now working on patching things up - together.

At the London-based station his infamous "Round at Chris’ " Saturday morning show attracted a huge cult following and he later took the format to Virgin 1215. A stint on the short-lived BSB Channel, "The Power Station" allowed Chris time to iron out any presenting rough spots, until Channel 4 opted for a different type of early morning show with The BIG Breakfast. Chris dived into the nations mornings in September 1992, spearheading the morning extravaganza alongside Gaby Roslin. From the first sitting, his name became synonymous with the television story of the decade and within weeks The BIG Breakfast topped 2 million viewers. Chris’ years on the show made him a national star.
In 1993, Chris formed his own company called Ginger Productions to formulate a brand new variety show for Saturday nights, ’Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush’. Devised, written and performed by Chris, the ratings peaked at a combined 6 million viewers. News of the totally original format resulted in a global clamour for the rights, which to date have been sold to networks throughout Europe and all over the world including Australia and Brazil.
With Chris at its helm, Ginger Productions fast became one of the major players in entertainment production. Under the Ginger banner, Chris produced and presented a second series of ’Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush’, revitalised BBC Radio One with his Radio One Breakfast Show before bowing out to concentrate on his unique end-of-the-week TV show on Channel 4, TFI Friday. TFI Friday finished on 22nd December 2000 with a show hosted by Elton John. In October ’97, Chris returned to his radio roots to host the Virgin Radio Breakfast Show alongside his former Radio One team.
Then in December, in spectacular fashion and with financial backing, Chris bought Virgin Radio from Richard Branson, whilst the MMC were deliberating on a buy out from another company. The newly formed Ginger Media Group (GMG), headed by Chris Evans, now handled all of the interests of Virgin Radio and Ginger Productions. In March 2000, Ginger Productions was sold to SMG Plc. making them the sole owner of the company. Chris does however continue to present the successful Breakfast Show.
The Ginger one has been a hit with the ladies serending them with extravegent gifts, he is famous for his wild drinking binges, that don’t last for a couple of hours but more like a couple of days. His conquests included Mel Sykes, Mariella Frostrup, on-off lover TV producer Suzi Aplin and a week long fling with another Ginger,Geri Halliwell, which the press dissmissed as a press stunt so that her single could reach number one, well if it was, it worked as she did get to number one.
To the shock of everyone now, he is said to be blissfully happy with 19 year old singer Billie Piper. This is the real thing they keep telling us, well they are planning to move in together in a pad in Chelsea.
