Carole Malone was evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house tonight.

The 47-year-old was told she would have to exit the house after gaining more votes than A-Team star Dirk Benedict.

Blonde Carole, who entered the house to satisfy her "journalistic curiosity", was banned from nominating her housemates because she broke Big Brother rules.

After secret discussions over nominations with actress Cleo Rocos last week, the other housemates had to decide yesterday which of the two they wanted to save.

Most hands shot up for Carole despite tearful outbursts over Big Brother’s "cruelty" from Danielle, Jade and Shilpa.

Carole was upset that Shilpa had not also been punished after her contribution to the nominations chat and insisted it was because Big Brother was being "divisive".

Close to tears in the bedroom, the journalist said: "I’m ready to go."

Pop star Leo Sayer had also been up for eviction but decided to exit the house in a rage after he ran out of clean underwear.

His decision seemed to seal Carole’s fate, as Davina McCall revealed tonight that he’d had the most votes for eviction before walking out.
