Britney ’jumps red light’ in video - Nov 19 2007
A video believed to show Britney Spears going through a red light was submitted to Los Angeles Superior Court, in the latest piece of evidence entered in the child-custody battle between the pop star and ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Mark Kaplan, Federline’s lawyer, said he could not comment after the closed-door hearing before Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon, because Gordon had issued a sealed order.
The celebrity website TMZ.com reported that the video showed the troubled 25-year-old singer jumping a red light at a Hollywood Hills junction while driving with the couple’s two young sons in the back seat of her car.
An unidentified witness who had been subpoenaed also appeared briefly at the court hearing. His testimony was postponed.
The case is due back in court on November 26.
Last month, Gordon ruled that Spears could have sleepovers with her two boys if she had regular drug tests, childproofed her home and ensured the children were buckled into their car seats when she took them on a drive.
He had previously suspended Spears’ custody rights, ruling that she engaged in "habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol".
Britney told to pay Kev legal fees - Nov 7 2007
American pop star Britney Spears has been ordered to pay the majority of Kevin Federline’s legal fees in the couple’s custody dispute.
Britney has been told to pay 120,000 US dollars (£57,000) in legal fees to her ex-husband, the father of her two young sons.
Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon ordered the singer to stump up a large chunk of the 154,500 US dollars (£74,000) in legal fees that Federline owes to his attorney, according to court papers.
Gordon made the decision after considering several factors, including "the notable disparity between the parties’ income", the ruling said.
A call requesting comment from Britney’s attorney was not immediately returned.
Court papers released last week show that Britney makes roughly 737,000 US dollars (£352,000) per month and spends lavishly on clothes and entertainment.
Meanwhile, Kevin "indicates that he does not earn any income", the ruling said.
Kevin, who has temporary custody of two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James, receives 15,000 dollars (£7,166) per month in child support and 20,000 dollars (£9,555) in financial support from Britney.
The support from Britney is to end on November 15.
Britney defied court order by driving kids - Nov 2 2007
Troubled pop star Britney Spears had to temporarily surrender custody of her sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline because she defied a court order, according to legal documents released.
The documents in the divorced couple’s continuing custody battle show Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon ordered them both not to drive their children unless they were properly insured and had a valid driving licence.
"At all times, the minor children shall be transported in a properly insured and registered vehicle, which shall be driven only by a properly insured driver who has a current and valid driver’s licence," Gordon wrote in the documents.
The pop star disobeyed the order when she was photographed driving Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one, a few days after the September 28 order.

During the early years of her career Britney made millions thanks to merchandising deals and successful hits. But she faced controversy throughout with rumours of plastic surgery and feuds with other stars. Her third album, which saw her take a sexier and more adult turn, was a relative disappointment while her critically panned but box office friendly debut movie Crossroads was a fleeting highlight. Meanwhile her long relationship with Justin Timberlake came to an end in 2002 amid claims that her reputation as a virgin was false and in fact that she had cheated on the N*Sync star?Britney responded by sharing a kiss with idol Madonna on stage at the MTV Awards ? an act which saw the pair criticized more than admired.
The kiss signaled the end of Britney?s pop-childhood and with the release of In The Zone and the hit single Toxic she began building a new fanbase. A drunken Las Vegas wedding to childhood friend Jason Alexander ended in annulment after just fifty five hours but, rather than concentrate on her career, Britney continued leaning on the lovelife self destruct button. She, despite advice to the contrary, married dancer, aspiring rapper and all round rat-faced bad boy Kevin Federline in a trailer trash wedding in 2004 and within months announced she was pregnant.
Having given birth to son, Sean Preston, Britney seems to have put her career on hold despite the success of a greatest hits album and the launch of her fragrance, Curious. Meanwhile rumours persist about the state of her marriage to Federline with the press accusing him of taking no interest in his wife and son and of cheating on the singing star.
