Set in the heart of Stables Market, this place takes it’s theme from an epic Babylonian story about the first heroic figure in history. And not only do the soft furnishings remind you of some far-fetched ancient fable, but just the size of the venue is enough to have you lost on a journey of barbaric proportions. Alongside a restaurant, bar and lounge there’s an oriental teahouse. Drinks aren’t cheap however, so rather than fighting the giant Humbaba, you’ll most likely be wrestling with a hefty credit card bill.

"Fifi Happy Birthday. Sorry I missed your birthday celebration at Gilgamesh. I tried to get you on the phone to apologise but the staff could not find ya. I trust that you had a lovely time.
All the best. xxx"

"Im inclined to agree with alot of the reviews... Impressive decor...dreadful service.
Having booked a table we had drinks in the bar first, the service was so bad we cancelled the table and left, after having waited 30 minutes for the second round of drinks.
More than enough waiting staff, but not enough attention being paid. You want good service... go to Hache around the corner!"

"Rude and incompetent staff. Overpriced food. Tacky environment. Consistent overcharging on bills. A squeaky railway line next to the restaurant that's nosier than Heathrow. Don't bother."

"Gilgamesh is a find!
The atmosphere is like no other restaurant in London.
The staff cannot do enough to please.
The food came very quickly, was very hot and tasted superb.
The wine was spot on.
The music and subtle lighting set the scene.
The bill was a pleasure to pay.
The evening was only spoilt by leaving Gilgamesh!"

"the food and drinks are very nice- but the staff is horrible.
Very rude and you might have to wait around an hour for your food.
I love the interior but dont go there unless you like to be treated badly."
