Andy's Taverna is a small-scale, quite intimate restaurant in London's Camden Town just off the high street. The classic Greek décor - bright white and marine blue - is a fine setting for the honest Greek cooking. Parties, meetings, and work events have been held in the charming white-walled garden, which seats up to 30 and in the bar area, which seats up to 35, or hire of the entire venue lets you expand your guest list to 80 partiers seated. The menu features starter of stuffed vine leaves, main course of lamb kleftiko with potatoes and Greek salad, and dessert of sticky Greek pastries. There is a modest, affordable wine list and a good selection of vegetarian dishes.
"We recently visited Andy's Taverna in Camden for a quite lunchtime meal. In reality we were the only five guest at the restaurant which raised our expectation for a quick and faultless service. After ordering drinks and a few starters we had to wait a long time for our main course mainly consisting of grilled meats and fish. When our order finally arrived we were served an overcooked steak instead of a medium rare ordered, a greek patter dish for two charged at 26 pounds consisting of two extremely small sausages one lamb chop an few peaces of chicken and beef meat which we thought was a one person portion, a fish which was perhaps the only dish without fault, and wait still more for another mixed grill to arrive. From the menu all main dishes should have been served with greek salad, but we ended up with only one salad to share the 5 of us, and two portion of chips which should have come as standard with all the meat dishes.
Two portion of vegetables ordered as side dish were noting more that a few overcooked yellowish broccoli florets and frozen green beens pieces. At the end we felt somewhat shortchanged having experienced a poor slow and unapologetic service."

"I have visited many Greek food places all around London, and I must say this is the most decent one. The food it offers is of great quality, delicious, and fresh. Toilets are clean, and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Me and my friends enjoyed all dishes, and especially the spinach pie. The garden is highly recommended :)
Overall, I must say Andy's is the best Greek taverna I've been, with reasonable prices, and great wine!!"

"As a vegetarian I find that my choice of where to eat out is limited even in London but Andy's makes me feel much better about that. The Greek menu comes with a great selection of veggie dishes, much more than the usual mushroom risotto at least!
It also manages to avoid the hippy image by virtue of not being a wholly veggie place. Clean, friendly and cheap (around fifteen to twenty pounds a head with a couple of beers) it is one of the finest restaurants in Camden."
