"Odette's is overworked - the bar is pokey and it's hard to get much legspace at tables. The food is excellent but chef Bryn Williams needs to ensure that he doesn't start to let his increasing fame run away with him or get to his head - rumours of a fling with Sharleen Spiteri smack of the current cult of celebrity chefdom that tend to make monsters out of chefs. Stay true to your routes Bryn and don't let your fame run away with you! "

"We had never been to the old Odette's so had no comparisons to make, but we went the other night for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and it was just the perfect choice! A more expensive restaurant to places we would usually go - but the food was absolutely excellent! Beautifully presented, and for me innovative and so delicious - yum! The service was very good and friendly, and the decor is actually nicer when inside rather than looking in the window. A great romantic choice - and a memory we will savour."

"We had not been to Odettes for years-and returned there for a Birthday lunch-innovative menu, fantastic food combinations, good service- and not too expensive. I hope they can keep up the standard with all the publicity on the Great British Menu and avoid complacency .
Best course? Signature dish of Turbot with Oxtail. Great!"

"At the risk of shooting myself in the foot and struggling to get a table again as a result of this review, this is the best food and best value lunch in town, bar none. Bryn's cooking is simply superb, imaginative but restrained, with a great understanding of ingredients he matches flavours perfectly and has a fine lightness of touch. Highly recommended. Service can be a little forgetful, and the voices rather cool on the phone when making a booking, but Bryn's food is wonderful. We like the decor too. "

"What an impressive restaurant. Obviously an old classic type of French restaurant Odettes is beautifully set out and immaculate, the waiters and waitresses are friendly, professional and unimposing while still being efficient and the menu is thoroughly thought out and well considered. The dishes are all traditional often with a slight modern twist and on every visit beautifully presented and as tasty as they look. V V good."
