Release date:April 30 2007
Format: Single
Genre: Indie Pop
Our Rating: 3/5
I enjoyed this band’s fresh upbeat sound, there is something deliciously uncomplicated and honest in their playing. The single 40-40 is an incredibly tight mix of modern Indie Rock with retro Brit Pop. The vocals have echoes of the best of the 60’s, especially Jerry and the Pacemakers. Combine this with some great song writing and you have an irresistible package.
They have a few surprises up their sleeves too – just as you are getting used to a punk inspired Down like A Domino you get Blissfully Mine. You can hear the folk influence coming through in this haunting number (the band site Woodie Guthrie as an influence), it is quite brilliant and I can’t see anything but great things for the trio.

Press release
‘40-40’ is the latest single from Kent’s very own Rosemary. After download success with ‘If I Had My Way’ earlier in the year, Rosemary follow-up with a crowd favourite, ‘40-40’ which was once again recorded with the band’s favourite legendary Kent producer Jim Riley (Buff Medways). Past releases include the critically acclaimed limited edition 7” singles ‘Suburban Kings’ and ‘Benjamin’s Ego’.
After being asked to play tour supports for both The Magic Numbers and The Young Knives at the tail-end of 2006, with 40-40 the band are hoping to add to their continued success with further touring to be announced later in the year.
Rosemary are Tim Hill (Bass/Vocals), Martin Brett (Guitar/Vocals) and Jon Chamberlain (Drums)
