Sinead O Connor – I Don’t Know How To Love Him
Release date: Out now
Format: Single
Genre: Irish Pop
Rating: 2/5
Acclaimed composers Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice provide the background for this latest version of their classic I Don’t Know How to Love Him. Taken from the hit-musical Jesus Christ Superstar the Irish sensation releases this heart-rending version in typically caressing fashion with politeness and understanding.
Displaying traditional Irish folk sequences with a gorgeous string solo the confusing and indecisive fairy tale provides hope and drama. Yet the track lacks context to the unknown listener unfamiliar with Jesus Christ Superstar.
The finale slowly dawdles away concluding that “he’s just a man” after the constant challenging and questioning of one’s love and fails to work as an individual piece. There is a deep feeling that suggests the story of the protagonists continues yet this abruptly ends and the next stage is unknown. This is certainly one for the housewives and pensioners.
