Little Barrie-Pay To Join
Release date: Out now
Format: Single
Genre: Jazz-soul
Our Rating: 3/5
Little Barrie swings into an amalgamation of genres- Indie, Funk, Soul, and Rock. But where it stops no one has the foggiest. At the top of the pile this band nibbles into frenetic guitars and bashing lyrics that would even have your parents singing a long. Tuneful and heart thumping -Little means big.

Press release
A throbbing, soulful, bass driven epic, that swings and shakes with the relentless energy of a band at the top of their game, Pay To Join is the new single from Little Barrie.
It is the second single from the critically acclaimed album Stand Your Ground. Pay To Join is wound tight with an intoxicating late-night soul fever and the bands explosive delivery.
Little Barrie’s live shows are executed with a fearsome intensity; the broiling riffs and scatter gun drumming anchored by Lewis Wharton’s bass. It’s a formula exemplified by Pay To Join’s irresistible groove and the running battles of guitar and drums that break out for each chorus.
The B-side is new track Can Of Worms. With its let’s-go-to-work intro and forays of restless lead guitar, it feels like a song born to soundtrack the opening of a Tarantino movie.
Pay To Join’s video was filmed in Tokyo as an exclusive for leading Japanese video channel Space Shower.
The immediacy of the album Stand Your Ground and it’s jacked-up rhythms have packed out live shows in the UK, Japan, Australia and Europe. Live and on record, Little Barrie take their appreciation of blues and soul and take a devilish delight in tearing them into exhilarating new forms.

"This is Little Barrie with a great song. It's an open sound with good moments in one song. I like the vintage sound of the guitar, bass and drums. Little Barrie is a promise and I like it when I hope to here more songs of them!"
