Music Review: Armand Van Helden – I want your soul
Release date: Out Now
Format: Single
Genre: Dance/Techno
Our rating: 3/5
Another great song from the legend that is Armand Van Helden. This song came out after the previous successes of NYC Beat, and My My My. It's got a catchy techno beat to it and makes you want to get your feet moving on the dancefloor.
The only thing that I can criticise the song on is that it is a bit repetitive, and basically relies on the chorus sung by Siedhah Garrett all way through. But although mostly just beat, I’m sure Armand Van Helden fans will love it. Not as good as his previous hits, but still a song that will no doubt stick in your head like his other songs.

Armand Van Helden wants your soul…
One of dance music’s biggest personalities with a discography of hits and dance anthems to match, Armand knows the ingredients to rock the dancefloor better than anyone else around…
Armand has returned in 2007 in a big way. His new album Ghettoblaster is critically acclaimed and is unquestionably his best longplayer for years. Armand’s most recent single, NYC Beat powered out of WMC Miami, slaying dancefloors and the charts, and chalking up an A-List at Radio 1 in the process.
Now Armand prepares to drop his summer bombshell. I Want Your Soul has peaktime dancefloor daubed all over it. With a slamming vocal sample from Siedah Garrett, I Want Your Soul is the latest in the line of defining records and remixes from Armand. The Funk Phenonmena, Professional Widow, You Don’t Me, Koochy, My My My, the list goes on and on. I Want Your Soul is quite simply a monster of a tune! Summer dance anthems here we come!!
Remixes from TV Rock, Crookers, Hipp-E and the hotly tipped Dusty Kid complete the package in fine style. The video has been shot by up-and-coming director Va$htie in a throwback ‘80’s style – and very good it is too!
Armand has played at Pacha in Ibiza & Global Gathering so far this summer, but returns to the UK for a string of special UK shows in September – more information soon!
