'Extra Credit' is a catchy and easily accessible dose of hip hop from Theory Hazit. The album has a feel good vibe and can be compared to Kanye West, who also deals in urban music with a more positive attitude than most in the rap world.
'Mrs Hazit' stands out with the female vocals adding an extra element of soul. The contrast between Theory Hazit's strong rapping voice and the soulfulness of the female vocals is striking. The songs range from mellow to happy, but always sound polished.
The finale of the album, 'Ghetto', uses fitting sound effects, such as police sirens; however, these are juxtaposed with an upbeat tune, and Theory Hazit saying that things will 'change for the better'. A positive end to an excellent album.

Theory Hazit is the first release in the resurrection of the label Super Rappin that brought you classic material by Biz Markie, Phife Dawg, Common, Lootpack, Slum Village and many others. With plenty of stories to tell, a bag full of witty punchlines, and the boldness to be honest in his music - Theory Hazit arrives on the scene sounding like a polished veteran.
'Extra Credit' has all the elements that today's underground hip-hop fan needs. You can hear influences by the likes of Madlib, Common, J.Dilla, Lootpack - this album is for fans of Stones Throw, Rawkus, Babygrande and comparable labels.
Theory Hazit was born and raised in Winchester, Kentucky with the support of his granny, an aunt and 2 uncles. He has always had a vivid imagination, enjoying cartoons more than music videos, and grew up with a love for dancing like Big Daddy Kane, New Edition, Kid 'n' Play and others.
"My uncle was a Funk and R&B fanatic. He would baby sit me while my mom went out and partied. He introduced me to Prince, Cameo and others. One day he played 'Rappers Delight' and automatically I had this feeling inside me that said, "I can do that!"
Theory explains, "With 'Extra Credit', I was trying to accomplish that FEEL GOOD sound. Reach out to the people that I failed at reaching before.I wanted to honour the people who helped make me who I am. Also, I wanted to make Hip Hop music that I enjoyed listening to. My inspirations comes from my mom, my brother, my kids, and my experiences as a troubled teen and an irresponsible adult. I wish I could go back and change a lot of things, but then I wouldn't be able to help some of those in need."
