Music Review: Josh Ritter - The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter
Release date: Out now
Format: Album
Genre: Acoustic/Rock
Our Rating: 4/5
On his myspace page, Josh lists one of his influences as Mark Twain and this is evident in his vibrant lyrics and the stories they tell. I love the folk style narrative of this album and the memorable choruses will have you singing along on your way to work. Reminds me a little of Ray LaMontagne.

Press Release:
Ritter is clearly having fun (and you will too) but there is a method to his madness. Those legendary heroines he name-checks were each responding to an inner voice that pushed them toward some extraordinary mission, one both noble and a little foolhardy. "Those voices can be pretty confusing," he says, "but there is no doubt that if you follow your two a.m. voices you¹ll end up someplace fairly extraordinary."
