Eddie Halliwell – Cream Ibiza 07
Release date: Out now
Format: Album
Genre: Electro / House / Trance
Our Rating: 3/5
This is a stonking album of beats, layering and effects, wound up in a euphoric fashion by one of the world’s top DJs. If you’re into your electro house this is an example of superb mixing which brings the Ibiza vibe to your limbs and living room.
M.A.N.D.Y. vs Booka Shade’s Body Language (Toscada Remix) comes pounding in with the thumping electro beats that continue through the album. From the first track you can feel Eddie pulling the crowd in with fat bassy electro melodies, winding them up with scratches and cuts, and then letting them fly with flawless mixing through big upbeat floor fillers.
Although some of the tracks are too repetitive for my liking, there are those that stand out from the crowd and some great moments: when Sebastien Leger’s Hit Girl – dark and heavy, gives way into the upbeat, feel good of Jody Wisternoff’s Nostalgia, completely changing the mood; Coburn’s dirty, subtle Razorblade (Malente Dud) with the kind of bass that tears through your body; and by the time Robot Needs Oil’s Volta drops. you can feel that Eddie has the crowd jumping together. Angello and Ingrosso vs Laid Back Luke’s It combines some rare vocals with great samples that wind up into Marko Nastic’s Above the Influence before the album tails off into techno, without climax or wind down..... the way so many evenings end.
It’s the mixing rather than the tracks that really stand this album apart which is, after all, what Eddie’s famous for - seamlessly dropping from one track to the next, literally without missing a beat. It’s a shame that we’re not having the weather here to party Ibiza style this summer!

Press Release
Over the last year Eddie Halliwell has confirmed his place at the top of the world DJ league. His premiership ability and showmanship behind the decks has seen him rise to the top of his game.
Through residencies & gigs at some of the worlds leading clubs, being the only DJ to be twice voted Mixmag’s DJ Of The Year and in 2004 mixing one of their most popular ever cover mount CDs, the aptly titled Bosh, Eddie has drawn respect from many other leading industry figures.
Amongst them, Tiësto, the biggest DJ in the world who in last years DJ Magazine Top 100 DJ Poll publicly named Eddie as his No.1 DJ In The World. Surely one of the highest accolades a DJ can ask for.
‘Eddie is a DJ legend to rank amongst the best of them…’ Mixmag
Add to this Eddie’s shows on Radio 1 that quickly developed from a monthly residency to a weekly show reflecting his popularity in the nations clubbing hearts. His highly acclaimed Fire It Up events have seen Eddie bring his electric performance to some of the biggest and best venues and festivals across the globe. Eddie truly is leading the new school of DJs and quite rightly so.
‘Without a shadow of a doubt Eddie Halliwell is a legend, a hero and a massively popular DJ worshipped by many…’ DJ Mag
Following several key dates at Cream’s long running Amnesia, Ibiza residency during 2006, Eddie has been invited back to take over the reigns from some of the worlds leading DJ lights such as Tiësto and Paul Oakenfold by being given his own residency at this mighty venue.
Throughout 2007 Eddie will be performing six dates for Cream at the world famous Amnesia. Over the last 12 years Cream has become synonymous with Ibiza and it’s legendary parties on Thursday night at Amnesia have become generally accepted as the BIGGEST night in Ibiza. This year is already looking set to be another blinding season.
Alongside this Eddie has returned to mix his second album for Cream on Cream Ibiza 07, which sees Eddie lay down the most upfront club tunes with two distinct flavours over two CD’s.
CD1’s Altern8ive Mix features the biggest electro, house, techno and mash up releases from artists including MANDY, Xpress 2, Sebastian Leger, Dave Spoon, Coburn, UMEK, Chris Lake, DJ Mehdi and Angello & Ingrosso Vs Laidback Luke.

Both discs showcase the sounds Eddie will be bringing to Cream, Ibiza and beyond this year, plus include Eddie’s own exclusive re-ed-its of selected tracks and outstanding sonic mix trickery.
During the 2007 Ibiza season Cream will be at Amnesia every Thursday night running from June 21st (official Cream Ibiza 07 Eddie Halliwell album launch party) to September 20th.
