London Fashion Week - September 15-20 2007
Twice every year Britain’s top designers dust off their sewing kits and put their dressmaking dolls to work as London Fashion Week looms large. After months of designs, adjustments, practice and undoubtedly the odd tantrum the results are about ready for us to see and judge. This year’s next-Kates have a hectic schedule of runway walking ahead of them as we pick out what we’ll be wearing for the next year.
Whether you’re lucky enough to bag yourself an invitation to the shows or will just be catching up via the medium of fashion mag this is your opportunity to gather new ideas on how to update your wardrobe and find out who the new names to lookout for are. With each new LFW there are not only a host of well known designers showing of their wares but also those that might not have reached your ears and eyes just yet.
More than 170 exhibitors use LFW as a showcase for their work and each and every one will be hoping that they’ve created that one all important item – this season’s must have. But it’s not only the clothes that set chins wagging at LFW. Perhaps more headline-worthy than a perfectly cut dress or shocking hemline are the celebs that are on the front row. Getting a top name to sit down and watch your show is as important to a designer as the whole creative process and to us mere mortals makes Fashion Week all the more absorbing.
With a heady combination of fabulous fashion, beautiful people and gossip galore what’s not to love about Fashion Week, especially when it’s all going on in the world’s most exciting city.
