Spokesman Yerzhan Ashykbayev told reporters at a news briefing: "We do not rule out that Mr Cohen is serving someone’s political order designed to present Kazakhstan and its people in a derogatory way." Ashykbayev also slammed the star’s MTV appearance as "utterly unacceptable, being a concoction of bad taste and ill manners which is completely incompatible with ethics and civilised behaviour".

Ali G’s gear is going under the hammer at Christies. The comic character made famous by Sacha Baron Cohen is well known for his rhinestone studded yellow tracksuit and knuckle duster ring, both of which will be up for auction at prestigious auction house Christie’s. The ring, which featured in the feature film Ali G: In Da House is expected to make around £1,500 when it takes to the block alongside other movie memorabilia including an original Storm Trooper’s helmet from Star Wars, Charlie Chaplin’s false moustache from Modern Times and James Bond’s moon buggy from Diamonds Are Forever.
Ali G hot in the US - 20/01/04
Sacha Baron Cohen aka Ali G is to land a prime-time slot on US television.
The spoof bad boy rapper will now replace Sex And The City on HBO. And if that wasn’t enough Sacha will pocket a cool £1million. His first US show, Ali G In Da USA, was nominated for three Emmy awards.
Looks like Sacha’s FameIndex shares will now be hotter then Ali G’s fake Rolex.
Back in da USAiii - HAMPSTEAD
Sasha Baron Cohens alter ego Ali G has been given a second series in America, despite no-one over there really understanding the first one.
American viewers and audiences were unprepared for Ali G really, not sure whether he was a real person or just a fake. I think the clue for all concerned is that it is billed as a comedy show.
In one interview Ali G asks the former CIA director, James Woolsey: ’Let’s talk about some conspiracy things. Let’s go back to the grassy knoll. Who actually shot JR?"
You have to admire the guy, you really do!

Facial Routine - Fascist Regime! - 07/03/02
Only Ali G would be brave / fool enough to ask a gang of neo-nazi’s in America if they used moisturiser.
Sacha Baron Cohen is filming a new satire in Georgia in which he stars as a camp Austrian fashion reporter - and angered a Neo-Nazi mob at a rally by asking them innocently about their facial routine, or maybe he meant fascist regime.
Unfortunately he and his camera crew had to quickly run away before they found out the answer.
Ali G launched in the US - 09/01/03
Sacha Cohen Baron is taking his Ali G character overseas in a bid to conquer America. Ali G will be making his US debut next month on cable channel HBO.
He is returning to his roots as a TV interviewer, talking to leading American politicians and celebrities.
Da Ali G Show will also feature Sacha Baron Cohen’s characters Borat, a naive TV reporter from Kazakhstan; and Bruno, a gay Austrian fashionista and former supermodel.
Sacha Baron’s narrow escape - 31/12/02
Sacha Baron-Cohen aka Ali G - has survived a stray bullet in Israel after two guests in an adjoining hotel room killed themselves.
Apparently the comic was asleep in his hotel room when a bullet struck his window. One of the bullets tore through the wall to his room following the incident at the Intercontinental Hotel, in Tel Aviv.

At Cambridge, he got a History degree and did his thesis on Black and Jewish cultures. Fascinating. Best known for his Ali G character, aficionados think that his Kazakhstani TV presenter character Borat Karabzhanov is much funnier. Apart from that we’re all waiting to see what he’ll do next.
