Sacha Baron Cohen
- Profession: Actor - Comedian
- Place/Date of Birth: Hammersmith, London, 13 October 2020
Not because the two funnymen didn’t get on, but because it seems the 35-year-old didn’t enjoy speeding round a racetrack for his role in Talladega nights.
Scaredy cat Sacha played camp French racing driver Jean Girard, competing with Will’s character Ricky Bobby, and according to The Sun it wasn’t all fun and games.
"The first thing they did was to get a driver to drive me around the track," said the Borat star. "You sit in the passenger seat and you are going 180 miles per hour. I was screaming like a little girl.
"For the film, I had to turn it into a ’Yes! Yes!’ It was the worst experience of my life."
At least Sacha has something less scary to look forward to - the Oscar nominee is currently filming an adaptation of Sweeney Todd with Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.
Woman sues Sacha over Ali G sketch - Feb 27 2007
Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen is being sued by a British woman who claims he called her a "bitch" and a "minger" in an Ali G sketch.
The comedian also falsely said he got her pregnant as he interviewed novelist Gore Vidal for a show broadcast in 2004, the woman’s lawsuit alleges.
She says she met the star 20 years ago on a trip to Israel with Jewish youth group Habonim, but that they never engaged in any sexual activity and "over time they went their separate ways".
But in August 2004 friends told her they had heard her name mentioned by the Ali G character, who allegedly said: "Me used to go out with this bitch called Heddi Cundle."
The suit, filed in Los Angeles this month, accused Sacha of saying the woman was a "minger" and that "once me got her pregnant me said all right, laters, that is it".
"None of the statements made by Baron Cohen are true," the complaint, which seeks unspecified damages, says.
The unnamed plaintiff is suing Sacha, US network HBO and Da Ali G Show for libel, slander, invasion of privacy, fraud, breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation and negligent infliction of emotional distress.
She claims HBO agreed to edit her name out when the clip was shown in future but that full versions appeared on YouTube and on Finnish TV.
She’s demanding a global recall of the material, legal costs and "further relief as the court may deem just and proper".
HBO told Access Hollywood it doesn’t comment on lawsuits and Sacha’s publicist had no comment for the US TV show.
Borat misses out on Oscar glory - Feb 26 2007

The award went instead to Martin Scorsese’s cop thriller The Departed.
The Oscars had already registered their first upset when Eddie Murphy lost out to Alan Arkin for the best supporting actor award.
Murphy had been expected to win for his performance in Dreamgirls, but the Oscar went to the 72-year-old screen veteran for his comic turn as a heroin-addicted grandfather in Little Miss Sunshine.
"More than anything, I’m deeply moved by the open-hearted appreciation our small film has received," he said.
And he thanked the cast and crew "for creating the same sense of joy and trust and community that the film spoke about".
The ceremony was hosted by comedienne Ellen DeGeneres, who joked that Dame Helen Mirren was a dead cert to land the best actress Oscar.

At Cambridge, he got a History degree and did his thesis on Black and Jewish cultures. Fascinating. Best known for his Ali G character, aficionados think that his Kazakhstani TV presenter character Borat Karabzhanov is much funnier. Apart from that we’re all waiting to see what he’ll do next.
