Jamelia slams Javine - Sept 18 2007
Jamelia has reportedly had a pop at Javine Hylton, saying Harvey has "downgraded from a Bentley to a Skoda".
The singer also apparently called Javine a "s**g" on live TV after learning that Alesha Dixon’s husband had left her to be with the former Popstars singer.
Jamelia told Star magazine: "I was harsh calling her a s**g, but I won’t take it back. Actually maybe I shouldn’t have said it in such a human way, she’s only human after all."
The 26-year-old said that Javine’s comment that she planned to have Harvey’s baby the day she met him was "awful".
"I don’t have any respect for the girl, and to think I used to be friends with Harvey! I saw him recently and couldn’t even look him in the face. He said hello, and I gritted my teeth and said hello back. Harvey’s downgraded from a Bentley to a second-hand Skoda. They have started their relationship on a bad foundation so, if they last, it will only be to prove a point."
Jamelia also took a swipe at Jordan.
"She will tell you anything in return for money," she said. "I find what she does very vulgar. This culture we are living in is bizarre when people like Jordan become celebrated, it’s madness."
Jamelia plays charity shop gig - Sept 12 2007
Jamelia, Fatboy Slim and Jarvis Cocker are among the stars set to perform in a converted London charity shop in aid of Oxfam.
The performers will feature in a series of intimate gigs in the as yet unnamed store to launch Oxjam, which hopes to raise £1 million to help fight global poverty.
Fatboy Slim, aka Norman Cook, husband of Zoe Ball, said: "I have always donated my unwanted records to my local Oxfam shop, but performing in one will be a first for me, so I’m really looking forward to it.
"It also shows that all you need to make an Oxjam event happen is a set of decks, a few choice tunes and a place to play them, so there’s really no excuse not to get involved."
The month-long fundraising festival will kick off on October 1, when the Kooks and Jarvis Cocker perform to 100 lucky competition winners.
Jamelia: I Won’t Win Mobo - Sept 7 2007
Jamelia has admitted she doesn’t think she stands a chance of winning Best Female at the Mobos.
The 26-year-old songstress, who will host the glamorous bash on September 19 with Shaggy, said: "I’m absolutely flattered, but I think they felt they had to nominate me for one of them because I’m presenting."
But she added that she was excited about presenting.
"For me it’s a real show of what I’ve achieved over the last 10 years. Seven or eight years ago I first attended the Mobos and to have advanced to the position where I can actually present it is a fantastic achievement and I’m very proud," she said.
Mum-of-two Jamelia, who recently launched Model.Me, a range of personalised haircare products for Toni&Guy, is also set to release her best hits album Superstar - The Hits on September 24.
She said the songs were full of memories for her.
"Being in this industry, it’s such a whirlwind, you never ever stop, so to have a greatest hits album and actually be able to listen to it, you realise ’oh my god I’ve done this much’.

Signed to Parlaphone aged just fifteen, Jamelia impressed record execs with a tape of self penned songs sung a-capella. Her first single, So High, was released in 1999 but it failed to chart while follow up, I Do, entered the charts but at a low position. Still just eighteen Jamelia released an album, Drama, which peaked at 39 in the charts and produced the single Money which went top five and earned the singer five MOBO nominations.
Taking time out to look after her baby daughter Teja, born in 2001, Jamelia returned to music in 2003, releasing Thank You, which stuck at number 65 in the album charts. However, despite this disappointment the accompanying single, Superstar, gave her a taste fo true pop stardom. Jamelia’s singles continued to chart well and before long she was also signed up to model for Pretty Polly and Reebok.
Three MOBO awards and three Brit nominations later Jamelia gave birth to a second daughter, Tiani, fathered by footballer Darren Byfield.
Her third album, Walk With Me, was released in 2006 and featured some quality collaborations and produced some reasonably successful singles, among them Something About You and Beware of the Dog.
Jamelia is a high profile campaigner for animal rights charity PETA and HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns with proceeds of her own fragrance donated to the cause.
