"When he’s ready, he’ll let you know," admits the 25-year-old singer, rather pragmatically.
"You can’t rush a man into anything - whether it’s a relationship, marriage or having children."
While the couple have always been quick to put a halt to any wedding rumours, Beyonce’s words suggest she is at least thinking about it.
"My parents have been married for 27 years," she tells Parade magazine.
"And they’re still in love. That’s a great example for me. I know it’s possible."
But her boyf should be happy - while their combined income may be equitable to that of a small country, the star has no illusions of a posh do.
"I was never one of those girls who dreamed of a big wedding," she says.
"Maybe me and my man will go away to an island, maybe we’ll go to a church. I have no idea."
Beyonce addresses wedding rumours - Dec 5 2006
Those Beyonce and Jay-Z wedding rumours are in overdrive again amid US reports that the twosome may tie the knot next weekend in the
"Well, the gossip says I’ve been married like 10 times," said the 25-year-old singer at the weekend when asked if the fresh rumours are true.
Skirting around the issue, the star added, "I do eventually, one day want to get married. I grew up with my parents and my sisters and family is important, but that happens when it happens. It was really important to me to have my career and my life and know who I am before I become a partner with somebody."
Admitting that persistent rumours and "privacy - people respecting that you are entitled to your own life" are the hardest parts of being famous, Beyonce claims she doesn’t read the papers anymore
"I don’t [read the papers]. People have a premeditated idea of a celebrity and when you’re not that they try to make you that and make up things. It’s really unfortunate, but there’s nothing you can do about it - it’s just part of my job," she told reporters during a press call for her latest film, Dreamgirls.

Beyonce’s solo album Dangerously in Love and debut single Crazy in Love shot her to solo stardom and made her one of the most recognised divas in pop. The album won her a record-breaking five Grammy Awards and her single and album also topped the UK and US charts simultaneously.
With a handful of forays on to the big screen Beyonce can also lay claim to the title of Actress. But while Austin Powers in Goldmember might have been a success her follow ups, The Fighting Temptations and The Pink Panther have not had the Oscars beckoning. Whether her part in anticipated music flick Dreamgirls will see a change in opinion remains to be seen.
Rapper Jay-Z has been Beyonce’s long term squeeze since they worked together on his hit single 03 Bonnie & Clyde and are reported to be heading up the aisle soon after the release of her next album B-Day.
