Beyoncé has been blasted by animal rights activists - Aug 31, 2020

Beyoncé Knowles has been blasted by animal rights activists for abusing a baby alligator while shooting the cover for her new album.

The singer recently revealed she made animal handlers tape the reptile’s mouth shut before she would hold it for the artwork of her ’B’Day’ album. Beyoncé said: "There was a shot where I held a baby alligator. It had its mouth taped - that was my bright idea. He was really cute, but since his mouth was taped he didn’t have any way to defend himself. He was upset so he peed on me."

After learning of her actions, international animal rights group PETA contacted British reptile expert Clifford Warwick. Warwick has now written a letter to Beyoncé, on PETA’s behalf, branding her actions "abusive". He said: "Humans and alligators are not natural bedfellows, and the two should not mix at events such as photo shoots. In my view, doing so is arguably abusive to an animal. "Animals shouldn’t be held in their predators’ arms for protracted periods of time while being stripped of all defences."

This is not Beyoncé’s first run-in with PETA. In June, members of the group won a charity auction on internet site eBay to dine with the singer-turned-actress at trendy restaurant Nobu. When they arrived they fired questions at Beyoncé, demanding she explain her use of fur in her clothing line, House of Dereon.

Happy B-Day - Aug 29, 2020
Beyonce is set to release her new album this September to celebrate her own twenty fifth birthday.  The one time Destiny’s Child star’s latest outing, B-Day will be released worldwide on September 4 and on the 5th in the US.

Her second UK number one Deja Vu will feature on the album alongside second single Ring the Alarm and tracks produced by The Neptunes and Swizz Beatz.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are getting married - Aug 25, 2020

Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z are reportedly set to marry in a lavish $3 million ceremony in late November. The wedding will allegedly take place on the Caribbean island of Anguilla.

A source is quoted on website MSNBC as saying: "Beyoncé has been telling friends it will be ’the wedding to end all weddings.’ "She feels like she’s living a fairy tale so why shouldn’t her wedding be equally magical?" One tenth of the massive cost will be spent on $300,000 worth of Beluga caviar alone. Beyoncé, who went on a liquid-only diet for her latest film role, also plans to feast on lobster.

The bride and groom and their guests will only drink Dom Perignon champagne, as rapper Jay-Z has boycotted Cristal because of remarks made against the hip-hop community by the company’s managing director Federic Rouzard. Oprah Winfrey and UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan are said to be among the stars on the guest list.

However, it is rumoured that Beyoncé’s father and manager, Matthew Knowles, has not given his blessing to the wedding. He allegedly does not approve of his daughter’s relationship with the rap mogul and does not think it is good for her image.

Biography

Beyonce Giselle Knowles was born on September 4 1981 in Houston, Texas.  She made her name as one third of Destiny’s Child, a band which she originally formed as a child.  A string of hits including Bills Bills Bills, Survivor, Independent Women and Lose My Breath made the girls household names and solo stardom soon beckoned.

Beyonce’s solo album Dangerously in Love and debut single Crazy in Love shot her to solo stardom and made her one of the most recognised divas in pop.  The album won her a record-breaking five Grammy Awards and her single and album also topped the UK and US charts simultaneously.

With a handful of forays on to the big screen Beyonce can also lay claim to the title of Actress.  But while Austin Powers in Goldmember might have been a success her follow ups, The Fighting Temptations and The Pink Panther have not had the Oscars beckoning.  Whether her part in anticipated music flick Dreamgirls will see a change in opinion remains to be seen.

Rapper Jay-Z has been Beyonce’s long term squeeze since they worked together on his hit single 03 Bonnie & Clyde and are reported to be heading up the aisle soon after the release of her next album B-Day.
