Brits cleared over Sharon outburst - April 1 2008
The Brit Awards was not in breach of the broadcasting code despite 128 complaints about bad language and alcohol at the music awards ceremony, watchdog Ofcom has ruled.
The incident which provoked the most complaints saw host Sharon Osbourne verbally attack comedian Vic Reeves, whom she accused of being drunk at the televised bash.
As Vic, 49, apparently struggled to announce the award for Best British Album, Sharon, 55, turned to him and said: "Get on with it, you p***head ... Shut up, you're p*****, p*** off. P*** off you b****** ... p*** off!"
At another point in the night, Sheffield band the Arctic Monkeys launched what appeared to be an alcohol-fuelled attack on the Brits school and were cut off mid-speech.
But Ofcom said the show, which was broadcast from 8pm on ITV1 in February, had a "particular reputation" and the swearing would be considered "quite mild".
It said the images where alcohol appeared would have been cautionary rather than glamorised.
It said: "While we understand that this language may have been offensive to some viewers, it was broadcast after the watershed and in a programme with a particular reputation.
"We believe that regular viewers would have been aware of the likelihood of this kind of material.
"Further, Ofcom research indicates that the examples of language quoted are generally considered quite mild.
"As to the portrayal of the use of alcohol in the ceremony, Ofcom considered that this was limited and incidental to the coverage."
Sharon’s Take That Dream - Feb 13 2008
Sharon Osbourne apparently wants to manage Take That.
The X Factor judge - who manages her rocker husband Ozzy - has confessed she would love to work with the former boyband, according to The Sun.
Sharon told the newspaper: "I haven’t managed anyone outside of my own family in years but if I had to it would be Take That.
"I saw their live show in London at the end of 2007 and it was one of the best live shows I have seen in years. I think they are hard working, very talented and have so much dignity."
Sharon and Ozzy are hosting the Brits on February 20 and Take That have been nominated for four awards.
Sharon added: "Ozzy and I have been asked to host many awards shows in the past but this is by far the most prestigious and meaningful, especially for Ozzy as it’s about the music. Ozzy and I are proud to be Brits and are both incredibly honoured to have been asked to help celebrate the best in music."
Sharon: I did terribly this year - Dec 14 2007
Sharon Osbourne has admitted she did "terribly" on this year’s X Factor, but says she definitely wants to stay on the panel.
The 55-year-old saw two of her Under 25 girls get booted off the show - and the third withdrew - long before the semi-finals.
Speaking at a press conference, she said: "I did terribly this year, so as far as my mentoring goes I didn’t do very well did I?
"As far as the dream team for next year, please don’t lets change it again - I just want to stay exactly where we are. I think we’re a pretty fiery lot, but we can all hold our own."
But Sharon admitted she did live in fear of being sacked like fellow judge Louis Walsh was for a time last year.
"I’ve learnt that you don’t make long term plans in this industry. I never know what’s happening. If they want me I’m here," she added.

Sharon also worked her magic on acts such as The Smashing Pumpkins, Coal Chamber and Motorhead, there are also rumours that she briefly worked with Queen but was sacked by Freddie Mercury.
During their long hours together Sharon and Ozzy fell in love and, in 1982, they were married in Hawaii. However, it hasn’t all been romance for Sharon, she has stuck by her husband through his drink and drugs problems, which came to a head when her husband tried to strangle her. Despite everything Sharon has stood by her man and turned her family into a hugely successful media product.
In 2002 The Osbournes aired on MTV. The show followed the lives of Sharon, Ozzy, son Jack and daughter Kelly as well as their legion of pets as they went through day to day life in California. An immediate hit The Osbournes immediately launched the family in to the limelight like never before and when Sharon was diagnosed with cancer during the making of the series she insisted filming continue.
Despite the bad luck that came with the series - both Jack and Kelly developed problems with drink and drugs during that time - there has been a silver lining for Sharon. Ok, so her self titled talk show wasn’t the hugest success in the US but her role as judge on The X Factor has launched Sharon to a whole new audience while the UK version of her talk show garnered a respectable amount of viewers.
Elsewhere Sharon has set up top rock festival Ozzfest and published her autobiography, Extreme, which sensationally revealed the levels of plastic surgery she has undergone, including lap-band surgery (which reduces the size of the stomach) and detailed her ongoing battle with bulimia. However, it is her outspoken ways which have seen Sharon hit the headlines time and time again, from hitting out at Chris Tarrant to a fued with Iron Maiden, via bitchy comments to Rebecca Loos and a neverending argument with fellow X Factor judges Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh.
