SJP: SATC movie is incredible - April 1 2008
Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed fans are in for a treat when the new Sex And The City movie hits cinemas in May.
"Without being specific, I'll just say that I think it's incredible," she told Entertainment Tonight.
"I'm really really happy with where it's headed and how he [writer and director Michael Patrick King] is shaping it. He wrote an amazing screenplay and it's funny, warm and moving and it's also extremely poignant and sad."
But before SATC, Sarah Jessica has another movie to promote - mid-life crisis comedy drama Smart People, in which she plays Doctor Janet Hartigan alongside Dennis Quaid, Thomas Hayden Church and Ellen Page.
"She was very different from any woman I'd ever played," said SJP about her character.
"She figured into the story in a very different way than anyone I had played in the past. There's so much about her that was unfamiliar to me, and there was a bleakness that I thought was very real about life.
"There are people that are lonely and there are people who don't know how to pursue love and there are people who mess it up, and there are people who choose to remain alone because it's so scary to have someone say they don't love you back," she added. "I just liked that the screenplay explored that."
Smart People opens in the US next week.
Sarah Jessica’s Parker’s sexy stress - Mar 19 2008
Sarah Jessica Parker has spoken of her pain at being voted the world’s unsexiest woman.
The Sex and the City star recently came top in a poll of US Maxim readers to vote for who they considered the "unsexiest woman alive".
Asked how it felt, Sarah Jessica told Grazia magazine: "I can see the stress on your face so picture mine.
"Do I have fake boobs, Botox and big lips? No. Do I fit some ideals and standards of some men writing in a men’s magazine? Maybe not. Am I really the unsexiest woman in the world? Wow! It’s kind of shocking when men... It’s so brutal in a way, so filled with rage and anger, so it was surprising to me that more people didn’t talk about the providence of it, that it’s coming from these men.
"But, on the other hand, I really like the choices I’ve made. I am who I am."
And the 42-year-old mother-of-one said her husband Matthew Broderick took it personally too.
She said: "It upset him, because it has to do with his judgment too.
"It’s condemnation, it’s insane. I guess you can’t please all people. But I played a lot of parts, women that are really interesting and attractive to me. Obviously someone thinks I’m palatable to some degree."
SJP talks SATC sequel - Mar 18 2008
The hotly-anticipated Sex And The City movie has yet to hit cinema screens, but already its star, Sarah Jessica Parker isn’t saying no to a possible sequel.
"We’ll see," she told Access Hollywood. "I really feel like we’re back here because of the good graces of the audience and they really are the determining factor. It’s really up to the audience and you guys."
Sarah Jessica, who also acts as producer on the movie, was one of the driving forces behind getting Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte on the big screen.
"Something happened to me in the spring of 2006, and I thought, maybe we should visit this idea," she said. "And I never thought in a million years that I could put it all back together again, but our goal was to get all of the four women on that set, and lo and behold we did and it was thrilling."
She also said she hoped fans would be satisfied with the finished movie which comes out in May.

Famous for her ridiculously fabulous fashion faux pas and luscious lifestyle, Sarah Jessica Parker earnt her Hollywood stars as New York’s finest dating disaster, Carrie Bradshaw.
Parker began her career in a revival stage production of The Sound of Music in 1979, where she played the leading role. Her forays into the world of the silver screen started just a few years later with her roles in Footloose, Firstborn and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.
Throughout the early ’90’s Parker appeared in a number of Hollywood productions, including L.A. Story, Honeymoon In Vegas, Ed Wood, Mars Attaks!, and The First Wives Club. In 1997 she received the script for a series called Sex and the City, and her destiny was born.
Despite doubts about being cast in a long running television series, Parker agreed to star in the up-and-coming series, which proved to be an instant success. Sex and the city went on to run for six acclaimed series, hitting the nail on the head as far as the female following was concerned, showcasing an enviable State-side lifestyle, coupled with brash female humour and innuendos.
In 2004 Parker won an Emmy for her role in the series, following five consecutive nominations. Sex and the City ended in 2004 and in 2005 Parker returned to the big screen with an appearance in The Family Stone, for which she received a Golden Globe for ‘Best Actress – Comedy’.
With the third series of Sex and the City, Parker took to the producer’s chair alongside starring as the main character and since then has pursued this role with the independent film Spinning Into Butter.
Alongside her career in celluloid, Parker has appeared in numerous advertising campaigns, brought out two fragrances and started her own line in discount clothing.
In 1997 she married Matthew Broderick, the couple have one child and live in New York City.
