Noel Gallagher

And yes, it’s all down to an argument between the Gallaghers. Apparently "Noel has had enough of Liam’s antics" - the usual reason for their splitting up the band. A source close to the band told Heat magazine "if I had a pound for every time the band split, I’d be richer than Noel and Liam" . Press are adamant that the split is for good this time.please excuse us if we don’t hold our breath.

It’s been a while since we saw a Gallagher on stage, but Noel was so impressed with Liverpool retro rockers The Stand at a gig in London he got on stage half way through their performance to add some guitar to one of their songs. Apparently the guitarist has been spotted regularly at the bands gigs so the performance obviously wasn’t a spontaneous one.

The Oasis star also wants to buy seats and a turnstile - to build a mini version of the ground in his garden.

The stadium is being demolished after the club decided to move to the City Of Manchester Stadium, home of last year’s Commonwealth Games.

Noel is reportedly planning to renew the pitch he has at his mansion in Buckinghamshire.

Oasis sing the blues - 21/05/03
The last band to ever play at Manchester’s City’s Maine Road football ground will be Oasis, and they are even doing it for charity.

Blues fans Noel and Liam are going to play a charity gig for just 5,000 people at Manchester City’s Maine Road ground before it is bulldozed. They have waived their usual £200,000 fee to raise funds for the Beating Bowel Cancer charity. A lot of the audience will be made up of cancer sufferers and sponsors, who will get to hear many of the bands hits such as Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back In Anger among others.

Tickets for this special gig are not for sale, and the football club will be moving to the City of Manchester Stadium, which was used for last year’s Commonwealth Games.

Surprise - it’s Noel! - 6/5/03
Oasis star Noel Gallagher delighted a small crowd of clubbers - when he turned up unannounced and played a surprise gig.

There were about 100 people partying hard at the Zanzibar club in Liverpool when Noel decided to take centre stage. He and Oasis band mate Gem Archer played an acoustic set of six songs, including Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back In Anger and Half The World Away.

Noel made the most of his Mersyside visit - he also went to a footie match while he was ’oop north’.
