The former soldier said that Gallagher was only able to make such comments "on the back of thousands of soldiers’ lives" laid down for their country.
He said: "He [Gallagher] is in a privileged position in society where he is able to have free speech and make comments like he has made.
"But what enables him to have that privileged position and have free speech has cost this nation thousands upon thousands of soldiers, sailors, airmen and merchant seamen."
Liam and Noel are to launch a hotel chain - Aug 30, 2020
Oasis rockers Liam and Noel Gallagher are to launch a hotel chain in America. The rock ’n’ roll siblings are reportedly planning to use titles of their smash hits as room themes in hotels located across the US, including Miami, New York and West Hollywood.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "The plan is to open as many hotels as possible by the end of 2007 and name each venue Supernova Heights, after Noel’s former home in north London. They want to base rooms at one of the Miami venues around ’The Hindu Times’ song."
Liam and Noel are also said to have got some of America’s most influential financial investors interested in the project. The source added: "They will both fly to New York and meet a business developer who has worked for a string of leading property moguls, including Donald Trump." Despite the hype surrounding the plans, it appears some of Liam and Noel’s more wild ideas have not gone down well with developers.
The source explained: "Their plan to install alcohol and cigarettes in every room of their New York hotel, in honour of their track ’Cigarettes and Alcohol’ has gone down like a lead balloon because so many people are anti-smoking."
Other tracks being considered as room themes by Liam and Noel include ’Wonderwall’, ’Songbird’ and ’All Around The World’.
Oasis are set to snub the upcoming Brit awards - Jan 10, 2021
Oasis are reportedly set to snub the upcoming Brit awards after they were left out of the top nominations. Noel and Liam Gallagher were allegedly so upset their album, ’Don’t Believe The Truth’, wasn’t nominated for the Best Album accolade they are set to boycott the prestigious ceremony next month.
A source is quoted in The Sun newspaper as saying: "Noel and Liam have no intention of turning up on the night. "They see it as a real snub to be overlooked for the category." The insider added: "It was a real kick in the teeth for Noel because he wanted to see Paul Weller pick up his Lifetime Achievement Award." The band is expected to be nominated in at least one category, rumoured to be Best Rock or Best Live Act, when the list is announced tonight (10.01.06), but it’s thought they will not attend because they have been left out of the major categories.
Oasis had previously been rumoured to be set to perform at the ceremony. Other stars believed to be appearing at the February 15 event, in London, include Madonna, recently reunited boy band Take That, Coldplay and US rapper Kanye West.

In April 1984, Peggy (Noel’s mother) took her three boys and left Tommy who is an alcoholic known for his violent mood swings. Noel has not had any contact with his father since then. Noel had planned to secretly wed girlfriend Meg Matthews on Valentine’s Day in 1997, deciding a quiet wedding in the UK would be impossible, they exchanged wedding vows at the Little Chapel of The West in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on June 5th 1997.
Their first child, a daughter named Anais, was born at London’s exclusive Portland Clinic on January 27, 2000. Noel and Meg were divorced in January 2001. Only two months after younger brother Liam announced his separation from wife Patsy Kensit, Noel announced, September 5th 2000, that he and wife Meg were going their separate ways.
It’s rumoured that Meg couldn’t stand living in the countryside and missed partying with her friends in London. Noel is now dating and living with Sara MacDonald in Marylebone. However he loves Brighton so much he has bought a home which they both spend most weekends at.
Sara works in public relations and met Noel at the Ibiza nightclub Manumission where she was working. Noel suffers from dyslexia, but succeeds at being Oasis’s songwriter and is the brains behind the group, his turbulent relationship with younger brother Liam has calmed down considerably and for the time being they can both be in the same room as each other.
